Job Summary:

The Sr. Administrative Specialist (Office Manager) in Klein College of Media and Communication's Advertising & Public Relations/CSI Departments is responsible for addressing the department's students' and faculty's inquiries, requests, and needs. The Sr. Administrative Specialist maintains a smooth operation of the department's academic office working with the Department Chair, Assistant Chairs and Sequence Heads. The Sr. Administrative Specialist assists faculty search committees with searches, setting up accurate and updated filing system of all applications, scheduling candidate site visits, make hotel and travel arrangements, reserving rooms, organizing lunch, scheduling itinerary for the day and following up with candidate after visit.

Required Education & Experience:

  • At least three years of related administrative experience, preferably in a higher education environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgment.

  • Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse population of students, administrators, faculty, and staff

  • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work well and focus on completion of tasks.

  • Must be an effective problem solver and facilitaton

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Knowledge of university-level operations.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and advanced spreadsheet, database and design presentation.
