The Senior Demand Planner will be a key Sales and Operations Planning interface with Finance, Commercial, R&D and Operations groups to ensure alignment and consistency of volume forecast assumptions on a monthly and when called for weekly and daily basis.
This role will provide the detailed forecast breakdowns required for inventory planning and resource planning including sample types, assay mix and sequencing coverage. This role will also be responsible for forecast risk analyses such as Monte Carlo simulations when required for major investments decisions.
Work with key stakeholders to develop and maintain planning processes to support both tactical (e.g., inventory planning) and strategic (e.g., long-term capacity planning) objectives.
Manage the S&OP process. Assist the organization in building a best-in-class S&OP process.
Analyze demand streams and identify risks along with areas of improvement
Ensure accuracy of demand following up on discrepancies
Develop and maintain forecast reports
Recommend and track forecast related KPIs; make recommendations for improvement.
Assist in budget preparation
Assist in systems implementations (e.g., MRP) as needed
Assist the Director of Supply Chain Planning as necessary to ensure continuity of planning activities. Act as a backup for other Planners for key activities.
Perform all work in adherence to our standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field; and 5+ years of experience in a similar role
Experience with statistics and forecasting methods
Expert-level Excel skills, including pivot tables, importing external data, statistical functions, and simulations
Ability to distill complex data into simple graphs and presentations.
Strong written communication skills
Continuous improvement mindset
Experience with Salesforce software
Experience managing demand planning in a make-to-order environment
Experience with statistical modeling, e.g., Crystal Ball or similar.
Experience with Smartsheets
Experience with ERP/MRP systems
