As a Senior Data Services Engineer, you will on the Data Services team under the Information Technology Services and Solutions group that will design data applications and integrations for eBay's global business and corporate services. In particular this role will have a primary responsibility of developing/leading/being responsible for several data and integration related technology activities at a time. In this role you will provide architectural solutions, lead development teams, do hands on development as needed, develop POC, product and tool road maps, partner with multiple application development teams spread across the globe to influence business solutions and co-ordinate multiple data and integration projects across the enterprise.
You will also be part of crafting and leading all aspects of delivery of functional & technical components for data catalog solutions. You will partner closely with production teams, design and develop dev-ops solutions and ensure smooth hand-offs to sustaining teams and design solutions that are stable, scalable and optimized for monitoring as well as participate in support operations.
Research, design and build innovative solutions to continuously improve ESB, ETL, SOA, BPM, MDM to meet changing business needs and stay ahead with technology trends.
Mentor and guide developers and partner team members on Data Services development/design patterns, standards, best practices and engagement model.
Own the data & integration design and development effort on multiple application projects.
Ensures that standard development processes and best method practices are followed during the entire SDLC.
Conducts design and code reviews and provides technical direction tall levels of designers, developers and implementers.
Craft and socialize canonical domain models and processes that are tailored to the global ITSS functions.
Crafting and developing technical specs. Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
Participate and deliver production support and solution sustaining.
Establish good relationships with all the stakeholders.
Share and extend help to project and team members.
Actively participate in team meetings, architecture forums & discussion groups.
Support & grow innovative team culture.
Ability to work in both Waterfall and Agile projects without compromising quality.
Communicates to all levels of IT management, PMO and Development teams.
Communicate the project status, impacts & delays with stakeholders and establish clear expectations with project team and PMs.
Be able to help business counterparts in finding efficient solutions.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field. Sophisticated degree is a plus.
6-10 years related experience with at least 5 years in a lead technical role.
Architecture and Design experience desired.
Validated experience in technology delivery, including Analysis, Development and implementation of Enterprise Data & Application Integration projects.
Strong hands on Experience in middleware tool such as web Methods (Integration Server, BPM, Broker, SOA, ERP Adapters, B2B Adapters). This includes Design, Development, standard methodologies, performance tuning & troubleshooting, security, Batch jobs, Real time transactions and web-service design.
Strong experiences of Java SE, Java EE, JMS, XML, XSL, Web Services and other application integration related technologies.
Development experience with understanding of REST, SOAP, UDDI, WS-Security, SOA Governance, Web Service Management tools.
Strong experienced with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL (Or other leading RDBMS as MySQL or SQL Server).
Real world experience on ETL tools like Informatica a plus.
Experience with tools like SoapUI, Fiddler.
Experience with Unix/Linux command-line& scripting.
Proven understanding of Linux O/S and Solaris environments.
Cloud Integration platforms experience like Ariba, Workday, Salesforce is a plus.
Exposure to current data trends: data hubs, data lakes, data, sophisticated analytics concepts is a plus.
