The Purpose:

The Business team at Slickdeals is seeking a Sr Data Scientist, Business Analytics to build the tooling, processes, and reporting that will enable the company to deeply understand the dynamics of our ecosystem and how our users use the product. This role will be responsible for defining and measuring the health of the business and generating the quantitative insights that inform our business strategy.

What You'll Do:

• Report to the VP Business Operations and partner directly with the Business team leadership across Sales, Marketing, Community and Operations while working closely with data engineering

• Analyze large datasets using SQL and scripting languages to surface actionable insights and opportunities to the Business team and other key stakeholders

• Approach problems from first principles, using a variety of statistical and mathematical modeling techniques to research and understand advocate and customer behavior

• Design and analyze A/B experiments to evaluate the impact of changes we make to our operational processes and tools

• Build, forecast, and report on OKRs and KPIs that drive strategy and facilitate decision making for key business initiatives

• Build and share data visualizations and self-serve dashboards for your partners

• Effectively communicate your work with team leads and cross-functional stakeholders on a regular basis

• Work with Data Engineering to log new, useful data sources as we evolve Business processes, tooling, and features

• Drive decisions about Business tooling and process that improve data access, our learning velocity, and experiment hygiene

What We're Looking For:

• A bachelor degree in statistics, data science, or similar STEM field with 5+ years of experience in a relevant role OR

• A graduate degree in statistics, data science, or similar STEM field with 2+ years of experience in a relevant role

• Advanced proficiency with Excel, SQL, and data visualization/business intelligence tools (ex. Tableau or Looker)

• Experience with scripting and data analysis programming languages, such as Python or R

• Experience with cohort and funnel analyses, predictive modeling, pattern recognition and a deep understanding statistical concepts such as selection bias, probability distributions, and conditional probabilities

• Demonstrated ability to motivate and empower teams to make good decisions with data and data visualizations

• Experience in a high-growth tech environment and bonus points if you have e-commerce or two-sided marketplace/crowdsourced experience

LOCATION: San Mateo, CA

Hybrid schedule visiting our San Mateo office three days a week (Tues-Thurs).
