Senior Data Coordinator Diagnostic Services Administration

Position Highlights:

The Senior Data Coordinator is responsible for performing the daily audits covering the areas of financial clearance, scheduling and completion of imaging exams, billing and denials. This includes maintenance of logs and statistics to measure the effectiveness of such workflows. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures including complying with all Rush University Medical Center Customer Service Standards.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and maintain the daily audit processes defined by departmental guidelines, policies and procedures related to obtaining financial clearance for services rendered, information and data relevant to the provision of services across the Diagnostic Services spectrum and auditing of billing and denials.

Provides oversight to insurance verification and authorization for Imaging procedures in advance of exam performance to minimize denials.

Work closely with the referring physician's offices, Central Referral Team, Patient Coordinators, Section Managers, and Finance Department in pursuing resolution to variances in workflow and process.

Design and write monthly reports detailing the findings of the audit process.

Audits daily billing files.

Ensures daily billing file is posted.

Corrects rejected charges and ensures they are posted.

Audits billing files against RIS files and Finance/IS reports to ensure all exams performed are billed.

Monitor and provide feedback to users of the RIS who contribute to noncompliance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, working effectively with a variety of staff and managers required.

Working knowledge of PCs and databases.Good time management, organizational, problem solving and report preparation skills.

VIEW JOBS 10/24/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-22T00:00 Position Responsibilities * Tracks all patients for services provided in the Section of Bone Marrow Transplant for statistical analysis and use in QI initiatives both internally in department as well as externally for Rush Quality Program and regulatory/insurance agencies for accreditation purposes * Coordinates patient information for donors and recipients and completes data entry, validation, monthly audits and statistical analysis for monthly reporting * Organizes quality reports on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis, including statistical analysis, presentation, and assists with implementation of improvement strategies * Primary facilitator for bone marrow transplant program to maintain industry standards, commercial, government, insurance and clinical performance, through maintenance and development of programs * Provides back up support to the Sr Clinical Review Coordinator by providing patient information on global transplant patients to Rush Health. Assists in the maintenance of the Rush Health global database and the BMT patient daily referral database * Leads the coordination and preparation for all accreditation agency site visits (FACT, BDCT, ASBMT etc) and maintains standards for all audits either on site or request for information * Reviews medical records for data collection and analysis including those for CIBMTR (Center for International Bone Marrow Transplant Registry) and NMDP (National Marrow Donor Program). This includes but is not limited to initiation, monitoring of compliance, and spreadsheet maintenance of all TED forms, research forms, NMDP protocols and consents. * Assigns education topics and tracks progress on educational needs for the clinical programs continuous education. * Documents and monitors quality assurance indicators by data collection through various resources; provides status report and analysis to clinical staff for review * Assists midlevel providers and registered nurses with patient contact for follow up information and updated demographic data * Initiates, maintains and completes regulatory updates on transplant research protocols. Leads and represents Rush Bone Marrow Transplant Department in RITN (Radiation Injury Transplant Network) activities * Leads, conducts, summarizes audits related to quality and FACT certification.
