Senior Data CenterApplication Engineer

What you will do

    • Lead the development of astandardized (to JCI) library of design best practices to aid local branchesand contractors in estimation, engineering, installation, and commissioning ofData Center controls projects.
    • Design and estimate Data Centercontrols projects, either independently or in collaboration with localbranches/contractors.
    • Define and maintainingstandard applications for Data Center controls.
    • Drive adoption of DataCenter controls best practices into local branch/contractors.
    • Identify products andproduct features that are unique to the Data Center market and drive those needsinto product development roadmaps.
    • Provide direction andsupport to branches and contractors with regards to Data Center controlsprojects.

How you will do it

    • By effectivelycollaborating with Data Center project sales personnel and Data Centercustomers to fully understand their controls needs and expectations.
    • By understandingavailable product technologies, design possibilities, and installationprocedures and applying them to meet Data Center controls requirements.
    • By working closely with thelocal branches to ensure Data Center controls projects are implementedaccording to standardized design best practices and that critical metrics,including customer satisfaction, cost, schedule, and profitability are beingmet.
    • By providing training andsupport to the local branches on the standardized Data Center design bestpractices.

What we look for

    • Experience in theestimation, design, and commissioning of Data Center controls projects
    • Experience in designing,engineering, and programming Data Center HVAC control systems
    • Ability to effectively adjustcommunication style to present solutions in front of customers who have a widerange of technical aptitude.
    • Ability to influenceothers without having direct supervision authority.

This would include the timely and accurate deliveries of the existing products. * You will also be responsible for supplying technical support and guidance to our next generation of product offerings. * This will include working with our construction cost estimators, software developers, software quality assurance team and business partners. * You will be asked to provide direct client support through onsite visits or WebEx presentations and participate in add hock client phone calls and written responses. * You will be responsible for content and timely delivery of a product bulletins. * You will scope out new projects and help develop the data research project plan and any needed changes to the tools algorithms, knowledge tables, GUI frontend and reports generated out of the program. * As the product manager responsible for the quality of the valuations generated in your tools you will need to have a strong understanding on how your clients use the tool and any limitations that are common for the industry. * This is a hands-on management position. * You not only provide support and manage the product updates and special projects, you will also be very involved with performing many of the tasks needed to update or complete a project. * As the product manager, you are empowered to stop all production of your delivery if any portion of the product update cycle. Job Requirements Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills * Proven track record of Commercial and Residential property assessment or appraisals. * History with CAMA vendors and the use of the existing Marshall and Swift tools is a plus. * Strong communication and writing skills. * Strong analytical skills / statistics skills. * Learn, understands and communicates complex information quickly * Ability to create consensus around new ideas and initiatives building confidence in the outcome. * Experience with working with multi skill sets such as programmers, research analysts, building estimators, sales staffs and business partners. * Experience in using SQL, Excel and Access a plus but not a requirement. * The ability to listen to a client or business partners problems and formulate a solution is a skill set that is highly desirable for this position.
