The Sr. Data Analyst supports the evaluation and analysis of the customer markets in existing business and also potential new markets. The Sr. Data Analyst position will be responsible for guiding the decision making process to ensure that the company's profitability and growth objectives are met. The position will be instrumental in the development and deployment of data to support business intelligence and strategies that increase business.
Main responsibilities include:
Work closely with the Management Team and will be responsible for the ongoing data preparation, analysis and issuance of key reports by providing support to the Sales and Marketing Management team.
Provide support in the development of market analysis required to evaluate business performance and identify market opportunities. Research market information, customer trends, supply dynamics, etc. to provide informational insights to the Sales & Marketing Management teams.
Work with Senior Commercial and Financial Leaders to understand analytic requirements and translate business needs into business intelligence products to optimize revenue management by leveraging World Fuel Services (WFS) data and data analysis technology.
Work with Finance and Commercial staff to understand business processes (financial planning, CRM, profitability, customer segmentation), how WFS data is generated/inter-related and the impact of WFS business processes on the transactional workflow.
Develop market data analysis required to evaluate business performance and identify market opportunities. Research market information, customer trends, supply dynamics, etc. to provide informational insights to the Sales & Marketing Management teams.
Responsible for manipulating and analyzing data, preparing reports, conducting competitive analysis and assisting with evaluation of the customer markets in existing business and also potential new business.
Develop internal sales analytics and reports, leveraging the recent developments in data visualization, discovery and reporting.
Work closely with IT on various projects as needed.
4 to 7 years of experience, preferably in an Operations Research and/or Business Intelligence role.
At least 3 years of experience working within a Fortune 500 environment.
Associate or Bachelor's Degree in AS/AA, Information Technology, Information Management.
Intermediate to Advanced understanding of MS Access.
Intermediate to Advanced understanding of SQL.
Intermediate to Advanced understanding of Visual Basic for Applications.
Comprehensive understanding of reporting tools; Oracle EBS and Discoverer.
Prior experience with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition 10g or 11g.
Prior experience with Data Discovery Tools (Tableau, Tibco Spotfire).
Prior experience with IBM Cognos/TM1 (or other Enterprise Performance Management tools such Hyperion/Essbase).
Excellent written and verbal skills, data analytics knowledge and strong problem solving skills.
