This dynamic role will wear several key hats including narrative-owner, reputation-builder, consensus-creator, executive thought partner, and strategic influencer. This position reports directly to the VP corporate and B2B marketing with matrix connectivity to the CMO's direct reports, the People Team (HR) and business unit leaders. This role is based in New York City.

Overall Purpose:

The Senior Director, Corporate Reputation Marketing, plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing our reputation marketing, including overall approach, definitions, thought leadership, strong thought partnership with our communications, social, content, and people teams, reputation content, plus critical stakeholder management. Working closely with executives and leaders, you will be responsible for utilizing modern marketing practices to foster a positive reputation and build consistency and trust with all key stakeholders including customers, executives, employees, governance bodies, partners, and the financial community.

Essential Functions:

Reputation Health and Development: Works with executives and leadership to craft the reputation strategy for the company at an enterprise level as well as a business unit level. Develops and implements marketing initiatives to strengthen, evolve and communicate the company's reputation and build trust while reinforcing company values. Establishes and manages the tracking of reputation and trust measurements and KPIs in partnership with marketing leads. In partnership with marketing and communication teams, drives external efforts, including campaigns, to enhance and strengthen reputation. Enables "feedback loops" to both test and measure reputation and sentiment.

Plant Our Flag for Societal Good: Works closely with marketing leadership to shape our approach to societal good and inclusion. Embeds that into an authentic corporate narrative at the corporate and business unit levels. Leverages best-in-class resources (internal and external) to craft and maintain a compelling overall narrative that reflects and builds on the company's reputation, while translating business strategies into crisp messages and showcasing wins. Creates a program for storytelling (voice, tone, channels) that unifies and elevates stories. Partners closely with the People Team (HR) on culture initiatives that tie to the narrative. Finds innovative ways to amplify EWS milestones, growth, and achievements/successes.

Corporate Marketing: Works closely with VP B2B and Corporate marketing to establish the corporate marketing plan, with the strongest lens on reputation. Manages creation of corporate marketing campaigns that will impact reputation awareness, including optimal content and modalities around the narrative and related storytelling. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Creating executive brands and subject matter expert brands in service of the corporate brand and business units.

  • Flowing thought leadership content through social channels (paid, shared, owned), marketing around key industry issues

  • Leveraging industry and trade association channels

  • Exploring non-traditional channels.

  • Utilizing modern marketing, digital, and social practices and partner closely with the communications team for highly coordinated content marketing and social reach.

Stakeholder Engagement: Develops and implements engagement strategies for key initiatives by stakeholders, including customers, select partners, and community members. Collaborates with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between stakeholder engagement efforts and overall business objectives. Identifies and prioritizes key stakeholders and creates tailored engagement plans to address their needs and challenges. Supports Early Warning leaders from a marketing standpoint (in strong partnership with corporate and executive communications), including the creation and curation of data points, content, materials, and other preparation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Marketing thought leader with 12 or more years demonstrated success in strategic thinking and leading cross-functional teams and agencies.

  • The successful candidate will possess a unique blend of excellent marketing and communication skills, strong executive presence, project management, and a passion for building collaborative connections.

  • Excellent communicator who is comfortable with a variety of audiences and modalities, but especially strong writing and editing skills.

  • Exceptional team player with proven ability to lead through influence and work effectively both independently and collaboratively within fast-paced, cross-functional teams.

  • Innovative and creative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into actionable and measurable plans, clear KPIs and shepherd the execution to achieve business results.

  • Proven ability to socialize, get buy-in, persuade and sell strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders; experience managing diverse stakeholder feedback and negotiating to successful outcomes.

  • Proven track record of "getting it done" in a fast-moving, technical environment

  • Highly effective interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective relationships and trust throughout all levels of the organization and with bank partners.

  • High level of personal and professional integrity, sensitivity, and confidentiality

  • Payments and/or banking experience is required, as is demonstrated project management.

  • Background and drug screen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a master's degree business or equivalent in a related field

  • Experience working for a high-growth organization

  • Experience working in financial services for a regulated entity

  • Specific experience working in payments and/or fraud areas

  • Issues management experience

Physical Requirements:

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.

The pay scale for this position in:

New York, NY in USD per year is: $230,000 - $260,000.
