About the Job

Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting for a Senior Corporate Recruiter. The essential responsibilities include recruiting for mid to high level positions across all areas of the company. Also responsible for establishing relationships with colleges/universities, compliance related agencies, and community organizations to build a network of resources.

MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Key role in developing corporate recruiting strategy, including multiple facets such as social media, campus recruiting, etc.

  • Execute recruitment plan by aggressively recruiting for well-qualified candidates from a variety of sources, managing selection process to include interviewing, assessing candidates, screening, recommending finalists, and filling the staffing needs within defined service and performance criteria.

  • Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need.

  • Provide a high level of customer service in consulting with and guiding hiring managers in comprehensive recruitment and staffing issues, policies, and processes.

  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.

  • Provide counsel and expertise in all areas of recruitment and staffing.

  • Network through industry contacts, professional association memberships, and local colleges and universities.

  • Post job opening advertisements on internet job boards, social media sites, professional organizations, and with local college alumni programs.

  • Monitor the company website career page and make recommendations to enhance to attract candidates.

  • Utilize social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates.

  • Communicate with managers and employees regularly to establish rapport, and source new candidate leads.

  • Conduct prescreening interviews, due diligence, prepare and negotiate, if applicable, candidate offers, and ensure successful onboarding occurs.

  • Establish, cultivate, and maintain ongoing relationships with hiring managers in order to understand the business unit and its recruitment needs within the context of their mission; develop and maintain a strong rapport with key leaders in the department.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Responsible for AAP Compliance.

Required Skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Position requires a minimum of 5 plus years work in the Human Resources field with an emphasis in hiring and recruiting in a comparably sized organization. Candidate should possess experience in implementing high-impact programs with successful results. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is required. Experience in financial services is preferred. Knowledge of applicable employment laws and familiarity with Affirmative Action requirements is required. Excellent verbal and written communications skills are needed. Strong facilitation and presentation skills are required.

  • Experience using specialized computer systems to develop applications for tracking and reporting data is necessary. Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and or PowerPoint/Access.

  • Knowledge of interview techniques and recruiting venues - including internet, job boards, compliance agencies, social media and colleges and universities.

  • Position includes exposure to internal information of a highly confidential nature requiring complete discretion. Must be able to build and maintain effective working relationships. Requires ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.

  • Advance problem solving skills are required to find solutions to problems that are technically complex. Situations require operational knowledge of various departments and usually involve human, technical, and/or administrative problems. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

  • Work is under minimal supervision where independent judgement is expected in the interpretation of existing policies and procedures. Plans and arranges own work, referring only very unusual matters to supervisor or others.

SPECIFIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work requires reasonable mobility in and around the work area. Ability to use standard computer and phone systems is required

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office environment where there is almost no discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or other disagreeable elements.

Work includes little or no potential exposure to hazardous conditions.

Must be able to travel to remote company and/or client locations.
