Day Shift

Summary:

The Senior Coordinator, Health Plan Data Analytics is responsible for all aspects of data management and analytics for fee-for-service and value-based contracting and contract management including contract modeling, data sharing arrangements, as some examples.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides conceptual and analytic support for developing fee-for-service and value-based payor contract proposals, including risk arrangements, using internal and external data sources as applicable

  • Works with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. payors, providers, administrators) to develop and maintain data necessary to support performance goals under the organization's payor contracts.

  • Facilitates data exchange with health plans for value-based contracts and care coordination programs. Manages, analyzes and reports total utilization and cost data for defined populations and works with supports stakeholders in identifying performance improvement opportunities..

  • Maintains a detailed understanding of Ohio Medicaid value-based payment program requirements, data and reporting; secures, maintains and reviews data and reports related to such programs and Akron Children's participation and performance; works with appropriate stakeholders to support development of recommendations based on such understanding and review

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team efforts as key contributor in support of planning, implementing and maintaining the data management capabilities necessary for supporting the organization's performance under payor contracts.

  • Supports annual budget development and management for the Managed Care and Children's Health Collaborative.

  • Provides guidance and support to analytic staff in the department and throughout the organization.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Other information:

Technical Expertise

  • Proficiency with Excel, or similar software is required.

  • Proficiency working with databases and reporting software required (Strata and Epic preferred).

  • Working knowledge of the business of health insurance (financial aspects of fee-for-service and risk-based contractual arrangements)

  • Excellent written and oral communication required

  • Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills required

  • Demonstrated analytic ability required

  • Self-starter

  • Strong interpersonal skills required

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree highly preferred

  • Degree major in business, quantitative analysis, mathematics or related field is required.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience (5 years if have a Masters degree) in healthcare data analytics, contracting (including value-based) and/or health insurance is required. Experience with Medicaid contracting preferred. Experience with risk contracts preferred.

Summary: The Senior Benefits Specialist is responsible for the daily administration of the individual discipline, including areas of benefits compliance, retirement, and leaves of absence. Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for the retiree health and pension programs, both Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC); assures the integrity of retirement/pension data and maintains the HRIS system for retiree and terminated vested companies; ensures that plan documents, SPDs, and forms are administered in compliance with plan provisions; oversees Retiree Open Enrollment. 2. Responsible for FMLA, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability and all other leave types, and the Unemployment Compensation process; advises managers on Attendance and Leave of Absence Policy issues and Unemployment hearings; works directly with employee health, hospital legal counsel, and the employee relations manager to identify employees with return to work issues and/or employees that should be placed on a leave of absence. 3. Assures legal and operational benefit plan compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulatory agencies (including JCAHO), and other governing bodies; responsible for the creation, review, and execution of benefits contracts, business associate agreements, and other agreements to ensure legal compliance and minimization of legal and financial risk to the hospital. 4. Other duties as required. Other information: Technical Expertise 1. Experience in administering employee retirement and pension programs, including 403(b), 401(a), and defined benefit plans. 2. Experience in employee benefit plan compliance is required. 3. Experience working with all levels within an organization is preferred. 4. Experience in healthcare is preferred. 5. Advanced Excel skills are required. Infor and S3 HRIS experience is preferred. Education and Experience 1. Education: Associate's degree in Business Administration or related field is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred. 2. Certification: Certified Employee Benefits Specialist [CEBS] is preferred. 3.
