Job Description:

Responsible for leading the specifications, design and development of controls software for electrified drivetrain system. Provide customer support for in-field deployment of electrified drivetrain systems. Key interface between the software team and mechanical/systems engineering to ensure customer requirements are met with the highest standard.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the specification and design of system application software & diagnostics for electrified drivetrains

  • Lead the development of system, component and vehicle level model for model based controls development using Matlab/Simulink tool chain

  • Work with cross functional team developing specifications for electrified drivetrain systems

  • Work with customers to specify software features and system interfaces

  • Develop requirements and collaborate with ECU hardware suppliers to meet ISO-26262 functional safety requirements and technical safety requirements as required for target ASIL of the electrified drivetrains system

  • Create DFMEA, FTA, DVP&R and other supporting development work-products to meet ISO-26262 compliance for electrified drivetrain

  • Develop MIL and HIL requirements for bench-setup, testing and validation of controls software

  • Document and track issues, maintain the list through the life of the program

  • Troubleshoot issues and testing systems on benches and in vehicles

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters of Science in Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Computer Science, or related field

  • 5 years of experience software or electronic system development, preferably in automotive

  • Experience utilizing Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow, CANalyzer, CANape for controls software development for real-time controls, experience with C-code generation, AUTOSAR, embedded software development

  • 5 years of experience in use of CAN, CCP, XCP communication and diagnostics test tools (i.e. Vector CANoe/CANape/CANalyzer)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience controls or Ph.D. in Controls Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering

  • Experience developing rapid prototype software utilizing dSPACE, or similar prototype controllers, real-time floating point microprocessors

  • Experience developing model predictive controls, PID, FIR, Filters, State Space

  • Experience with vehicle dynamics, e-motor controls, torque security, inverters and HV systems

  • Experience with multi-gear transmission controls shift strategy and BLDC motor controls
