SR. CONTRACTOR SPECIAL SECURITY OFFICER (CSSO)
SpaceX is looking for an experienced SCI subject matter expert to provide support for critical efforts as a Sr. Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO). This is an opportunity to fill a critical role within a dynamic, high-tempo environment focusing on programs that are pushing the boundaries of industry and technology. A successful candidate will be a self-starter and problem-solver with the ability to convey security requirements to a diverse group of technical personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner with Mission Management and government security points-of-contact to ensure program security deliverables are met, as well as ensure their understanding of the program classification requirements and protections
Provide SCI-level subject matter expertise for an expansive portfolio
Lead all annual self-inspections and government compliance inspections
Participate in all aspects of the initiation, management, and upkeep of personnel clearances for SCI programs
Create security CONOPS, Operations Security (OPSEC) Plans, Program Protection Implementation Plans (PPIPs), Memorandums for Record (MFRs), and other relevant security documentation as needed for approval by government customers
Coordinate transportation plans and courier documents for transportation of classified program materials and/or assets
Ensure SOPs are up to date and accurately reflecting security procedures, including proper facilitation of government security official approval
Generate and coordinate co-use agreements (CUAs) between agencies that are utilizing shared spaces
Facilitate DD254 tracking, generation, review, and issuance of subcontractor DD254s
Create and/or update annual refresher briefings, indoctrination briefings, and exit briefings as needed in accordance with government customer requirements
Process incoming and outgoing classified visit access requests
Counsel individuals who have been denied access and assist employees through the appeal process as necessary
Prepare and submit annual personnel clearance certification reports in accordance with contractual requirements
Other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent certificate
5+ years of security experience working in the SCI environment
3+ years working experience with 32 CFR part 117 (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and/or other security policies and procedures
Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. Please note that an active clearance will provide you the opportunity to work on sensitive SpaceX missions. As such, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's or Master's degree
Strong familiarity with Security Classification Guides and ability to implement appropriate classification controls within the program
Familiarity with DISS, NBIS, TALON, Scattered Castles and/or other customer specific systems
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to favorably complete a U.S. Government CI scope polygraph
Ability to travel in support of mission requirements
Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed in support of mission-critical deadlines and milestones
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Sr. Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO): $110,000.00 - $145,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Those with an active clearance will receive a 10% differential, up to an additional $15,000 annually, once officially briefed into a classified program.
