Work you'll do
The Sr. Consultant is responsible for leading related consulting projects, in addition to the development and supervision of staff assigned to projects. A Sr. Consultant must have strong knowledge within clinical or health information management.
The Sr. Consultant is responsible for leading projects including but not limited to:
Contributing to a strong client relationship through interactions with client personnel.
Understanding engagements as it relates to client's business.
Demonstrating knowledge in some areas of industry or functional specialty.
Contributing to engagement planning and ensuring that products/deliverables meet contract/workplan.
Delivering services that meet Deloitte & Touche's engagement leader specifications.
Assuming responsibility for small components of engagements. May have greater role on small engagements.
Writing of various reports related to engagements.
Contributing to a positive team attitude.
Travel to client sites will also be required. We are seeking an individual either with consulting experience or with experience working in a related function at a healthcare provider who can make a successful transition to a consulting environment.

Minimum 3 years clinical or health information management experience.
BA/BS in Health Information Management, nursing or other clinical area (medical technologist, pharmacist, physical therapist, physician etc.) required.
Experience with DRG/APC reimbursement, CMS rules and regulations, coding and billing compliance.
Proficiency on financial data with billing and reimbursement related experience.
Must be able to understand the financial management and health care reporting, including the relationship between CDM, charging, and cost reporting.
Must understand the charging processes and compliance issues and have the ability to provide resolutions by performing internet research, utilizing third party payor regulations, referencing coding guidelines, and reference local Fiscal Intermediary and CMS guidelines.
Must understand commercial and third-party contracts and their relationship to the charge capture process.
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of standard PC work processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) to develop, prepare, analyst and present analysis.
Experience working with Meditech, Epic and/or Cerner systems.
Must have knowledge of medical terminology.
Certified coders and/or clinical experience strongly preferred.
The ability to travel 75% is required.
