JOB SUMMARY: Contributes overall strategic vision of the organization and integrates a broad range of ideas and initiatives regarding IT Analysis.

Serves as the top level technical contributor and lead for the most complex IT analysis initiatives. Recognized across the organization for IT analysis expertise. Undertakes the most complex IT analysis issues on projects involving high risk to the organization or that have an impact to multiple business units.

Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. With expert knowledge, develops or modifies the most complex information systems. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system log difficulties as necessary. Guides and advises less-experienced analysts . Consults on the development and implementation of IT analysis initiatives to ensure that information systems products and services meet organization standards.

Job Description

Nationwide is seeking highly skilled Sr. Business Technology Analysts to provide leadership for the requirements management of large complex IT projects.

This role will serve as a liaison between business and technology partners to define project scope, determine methods to elicit functional requirements, gain stakeholder alignment and ensure benefits realization. This role will lead a team of cross functional business analysts including internal, external and offshore resources in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities include:

2.Creation and implementation of sustainable requirements management approach
3.Development of staffing plan, identification of skills sets and estimates to support project complexities and time lines
4.Prioritization and sequencing of work based on business value and complexity

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:Reports to Director/AVP; typically no direct reports but may lead project/virtual teams.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.With expert knowledge, performs the analysis, definition, specification, development, testing, documentation and installation of new and/or existing applications. Assists in the formulation and implementation of the overall systems development life cycle strategy for a business or functional area.
2.With expert knowledge, defines and analyzes current business processes. Facilitates the definition and design of future state business processes. Performs functional analysis and design, including functional alignment, scope definition and negotiation, business process design, and strategic planning.
3.Performs multiple aspects of the requirements specification function, including requirements prioritization and functional and non-functional specification development. Successfully uses appropriate methodologies and techniques for assigned projects. Performs activities related to a wide range of quality-control tests and analysis to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements.
4.With expert knowledge, performs requirements validation activities, including functional validation and traceability, consensus building, requirements management, and static testing.
5.Performs activities relating to the definition and analysis of current state technology. Performs the analysis and definition of the impact to the systems environment. Performs the performance of user experience design and specification, design validation, static and dynamic modeling and solution analysis and design activities.
6.With expert knowledge, performs test planning, test requirement definition, test design, test script, test data development, test automation, test environment development and script configuration management as well as test execution and communication of test results to customers, developers and other IT partners.
7.Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the IT environment as a whole, including information flows, applications and infrastructure, and IT solution roadmaps. Interprets changes and innovations across the application portfolio. Identifies new opportunities for the business through information technology.
8.Ensures that project plans, application designs and resource allocations for the most complex projects are aligned with the company's overall standards and IT strategy. Responsible for the development and management of the overall budget and operating plans for the one or more areas contributing to the systems development life cycle.
9.Assists in the development and implementation of the overall strategic vision and integration of broad range ideas regarding business analysis, systems analysis, applications development, and quality assurance and testing capabilities.
10. Leads the most complex User-Centered Design Analysis activities including the following: Conceptual Design, including UCD and end-to-end experience design; Interaction Design, including Information architecture and workflow analysis; Visual Design, including page design and rapid prototyping.
11. Leads most complex User research and validation, including usability testing and contextual inquiry/analysis
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education:Undergraduate studies in computer science management information systems, business administration, Usability and Design/Human Factors, insurance or related field is preferred.

Knowledge:
Thorough understanding of the Nationwide business.

Thorough knowledge of the Solution Delivery Framework and Methodology. Thorough knowledge of development methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or Rational Unified Process (RUP). Thorough knowledge in one or more technical areas that support application development, applications, or infrastructure components. Sound knowledge, analysis, and application of emerging and/or best practices in business process management methodologies and semantics. Industry certification is preferred

Experience: Ten years of experience in related IT professions, including at least five years of experience in IT Analysis.

Skills:
Expert knowledge and demonstrated expertise in Conceptual design, User-centered design, end-to-end experience design, Information architecture, Workflow analysis, User research & validation, business acumen, use of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies & tools, Workforce planning and management, ESDm, requirements specification, static testing, traceability, test script creation/execution, test strategy creation/execution.

Responsibilities We have an immediate need for a Guidewire ClaimCenter Business Analyst with hands-on gathering skills who can work on-site implementing ClaimCenter for 3 companies in the E&S segment; Nautilus, Admiral, and Vela. This role will eventually transition into a Center of Excellence team for ongoing ClaimCenter support and enhancements. The ideal candidate has expertise in the insurance domain, experience leading requirements gathering sessions and proficiency with Scrum or other Agile PM methodologies. GuideWire ClaimCenter knowledge would be an additional asset for this role, but is not required. Guidewire business analysts serve as a critical link between the claims end users and the ClaimCenter configuration and integration developers. They are primarily responsible for defining the ClaimCenter user requirements and configuration needs for all 3 companies and preparing the configuration requirements documents. They work closely with subject matters experts (SMEs), drawing upon the SME's expertise as necessary. Essential Duties: * Learn and master the Guidewire ClaimCenter V9.0 product in order to become a configuration business analyst resource and achieve Guidewire certification, if not already certified * Work with Claims to lead requirements gathering sessions and document configuration needs * Consult with business and technical resources to produce business requirements, rules, screen changes, and process flows * Partner with business teams to understand business objectives and integration requirements * Estimate the effort required to document the software configurations * Assist with the configuration testing, integration testing and user acceptance testing of customer solutions * Participate in a Scrum based product implementation of the product with 3 companies; Nautilus, Admiral, and Vela.
