Nationwide has an exciting opportunity for a high performing candidate to influence the strategic direction of a Fortune 100 company as a Senior Consultant in Nationwide's Enterprise Corporate Strategy team. This role will specifically help Nationwide's executive leadership team tackle the toughest issues companies are facing today, and provide Board of Director level input on key initiatives underway to transform our company for our next chapter. The ideal candidate will display exceptional analytical, communications, teamwork, and leadership skills, have a breadth of consulting experience and exhibit executive presence, and be able to lead consulting engagements for executives who report directly to the CEO.

JOB SUMMARY: Lead work teams to develop strategy recommendations at the business unit and corporate level.

Influence leaders through the analysis of key markets, competitors, trends and internal capabilities. Candidate must have exceptional analytical, synthesis, communications, teamwork and leadership skills.

Job Description

Reports to: AVP/VP. May manage up to 3 direct reports.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Formulate problem statements, design work-steams, direct analysts and conduct in-depth research and analysis to develop solutions for business unit and corporate strategy projects

Lead projects and work-streams to produce extensive analysis that resolves business problems. Conduct analysis, synthesize findings and make recommendations.

Develops and directs development of financial and analytical models to create insights into critical situations and operations.

Structures, creates and deliver presentations and memos to communicate perspectives and help drive change. Delivers presentations to leaders and executives

Partner with business leaders, staff and OCS team members to lead and contribute to high-performing teams

Lead work-streams and projects. Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to team members. Organize and conduct meetings

Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Advanced degree preferred.

Undergraduate or graduate degree with record of outstanding achievement. Business or quantitative background preferred.

Licenses/Designations: N/A

Experience: Significant leadership experience in strategy, marketing or finance at a Fortune 500 or leading consulting firm.

Typically 7 or more years of business or professional experience required. Insurance, financial services or consulting experience a plus.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of business, economics, or another quantitative discipline.

Strong computer skills, including Excel and Powerpoint. MS-Access and/or data analytics skills a plus.

Skills/Competencies: Structures complex problems and develops creative solutions.

Takes independent action and adapts well to change. Effectively communicates key messages to all audiences, regardless of medium. Understands specific business dynamics, company context and strategy, and uses knowledge for problem-solving. Delivers high quality work product in line with all commitments that is supported by fact-based analysis.

JOB CONDITIONS:

The SBA Solutions Officer Sr (SBA SO Sr) provides critical SBA product expertise to SBA Solutions Consultants Srs (SBA SC) and Business Relationship Managers (BRM). The SBA SO Sr is responsible for consulting and partnering with SBA SCs and BRMs to assess the financing needs of existing clients and prospects in order to determine the appropriate solutions. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (in order of importance) Act as a subject matter expert on SBA loans to 4-5 SBA Solutions Consultant Srs and an average of 80-100 Business Relationship Managers Identify client needs, develop client solutions, and partner with other product groups or lines of business as client needs dictate Develop new client relationships through referrals from SBA SCs and BRMs Act as primary point of client contact during the SBA eligibility phase of the process which can include obtaining critical documentation Structure and price loans for clients adhering to bank policies and government regulations Monitor loans in pipeline and complete post-approval requirements to facilitate timely closing and client satisfaction Serve as mentor for less experienced SBA Solutions Officers Provide product expertise in BRM team and market meetings as needed Travel to assigned territory at least twice per year to attend market meetings and participate in client calls 3-5 years of SBA or related background in relationship development Bachelors Degree in Finance, Marketing or related business field or equivalent work experience Robust understanding of SBA programs along with industry standards and rules/regulations strongly preferred Ability to identify opportunities and issues by asking targeted questions to assess current client needs and goals Results-oriented, customer-focused with a bias for action and sense of urgency Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong communication skills with individuals at all levels, internally and externally Proven negotiating and business credit skills Jpmorgan Chase & Co.
