Are you a Big Data/Analytics specialist who can address the challenges of migrating systems and workloads to the public cloud? Are you skilled at helping customers and partners to address their Big Data/Analytics projects using cloud computing architectures? Do you want to learn the very latest in cloud web services technologies and apply them to some of the most interesting computing workloads in the world?

At AWS, we're hiring highly technical Big Data/Analytics consultants to help our customers in making their Big Data/Analytics initiative a success. Our Big Data/Analytics consultants work with key stakeholders from customers to assist them with developing value-driven Big Data/Analytics architecture, developing implementation road map and managing related program execution.

This role will specialize in all aspects of Big Data/Analytics using cloud web services in large scale computing environments. Responsibilities include:

  • Expertise
  • Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon RDS databases, AWS Redshift, EMS, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), etc.
  • Solutions
  • Define and deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer Big Data/Analytics requirements, and proposing and delivering packaged offerings, and delivering custom solution engagements.
  • Delivery
  • Engagements include managing enterprise level Big Data & Analytics program/projects, leading migration of existing Big Data and Analytics workloads on to AWS

  • Work with AWS engineering, support and business teams to convey partner and customer feedback as input to AWS technology roadmaps.

What You'll Do: * Apply Big Data product and technical knowledge during professional services engagements pre-sales and post-sales leading customers through big data transformation across multiple private and public cloud platforms. * Operate as a senior architect guiding prospects through solution proposal and scoping exercises as well as overseeing large complex engagements led by delivery teams. * Utilize a highly strategic, highly consultative framework with large, complex customers and prospects. * Aligns customer business strategies and IT architecture via Rackspace products and services. * Work closely with senior leadership of client organizations as well as key technical personnel. * Demonstrate industry leading competency across modern data technologies and cloud platforms to design, implement, troubleshoot and optimize advanced solutions. * Drive projects including: Open source technologies; Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, HBase, Hive, Cassandra, MongoDB, Neo4J. Experience in both batch and stream processing technologies. * Cloud data and analytic technologies; AWS: EMR, Athena, Redshift, Kinesis, Glue. Azure: HDInsight, ADLS, Data Lake Analytics, Event Hubs, SQL Data Warehouse. GCP: BigQuery, BigTable, Dataflow, DataProc. Job Complexity: * Serves as a senior subject matter expert for Big Data professional services engagements. * Understand complex IT and business customer challenges as it pertains to enterprise architecture, Big Data, and apply technology and product portfolio knowledge to solve problems in a consultative manner. * Lead pre and post sales delivery efforts inclusive of holistic IT optimization, consolidation, and transformation solutions for customers inclusive of discovery, analysis, solution design, migration and optimization. * Prepares and develops statements of work inclusive of overview, scope, duration, deliverables, resources, terms and conditions, assumptions, and pricing. * Lead and deliver the sale of assessment services, business case development, solution architecture, and multi-phased complex migration programs that address technology, people/organization, and process. * Lead facilitation of group white-boarding sessions to articulate Rackspace solutions, transformation methodology, functional separation of customer applications, and development of business case value with financial calculations such as TCO and ROI. * Creates and presents deliverables to customer such as asset inventory, infrastructure snapshot, capacity & performance analysis, consolidation scenarios, application inventory & snapshot, business impact analysis, architecture feasibility analysis, data classification, integration & dependency mapping, consumption & demand analysis, application risk & complexity profile, target platform & service level mapping, migration methodology, schedule & resource planning, target solution design, and executive summary. * Aligns and regularly communicates with Project Manager and extended teams during project delivery to ensure timely delivery and awareness of potential problems or risk requiring resolution or mitigation. * Proactively identify potential issues and work through resolution with internal and external stakeholders. * Perpetually seek to improve and refine the Rackspace Professional Services methodology, deliverables, sales collateral, and team roles and alignment. * Build and maintain a network of cross-functional technical resources within Rackspace and across any relative partnerships to allow for higher productivity, increased business, and rapid resolution of problems and escalations. * Serve as a thought leader and drive strategic direction within Rackspace Professional Services. Develop and implement best practices for team processes. * Occasional domestic travel, up to 50%. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related technical field and 12-14 years of industry experience in technical support and/or pre or post sales engineering and architecture. * Additional experience may substitute for the degree requirement at a rate of 3 years of experience for 1 year of education. * Advanced degree preferred. * ITIL certification preferred. * Industry leading knowledge and experience across Big Data domain. * Requires exposure to a range of IT environments, industry sectors & technology stacks. * At least one top tier technical certifications in a highly desired technology domain. * Extensive managed services, consulting, technical support, and/or application development experience preferred.
