Job Purpose

As a Sr Composite technician with Canoo R3PI, you will play an integral role in the rapid development and deployment of purpose built products and electric vehicles for government and private customer around the world. You will cut, lay-up, fabricate, cure and assemble various types of composite assemblies, including bonded and mechanically fastened assemblies. Exercise a basic knowledge of the physical properties of materials such as, but not limited to thermosets, thermoplastics and composites and their forming and processing characteristics, and of the physical and bonding characteristics of materials and adhesives used.

Responsibilities (80s of the Position)

• Cut composite patterns both by hand and CNC.

• Perform plug and mold prep for best surface finish possible.

• Apply composite material to molds via wet layup, vacuum infusion, or prepreg mothods.

• Cure parts under vacuum or compression molding.

• Trim parts to final shape by hand and CNC

• Research and implement process improvements keeping in line with industry standards.

Required Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• 6+ years hands-on experience with automotive/aerospace Composites

• Experience collaborating cross functionally

• Polished communication and presentation skills

• A bias towards action

• Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently

Preferred Experience

• Paint and Body experience a plus.

• Fabrication experience a plus.

Travel Requirements

• Occasional travel for up to 2 weeks at a time.
