Sr Compliance Analyst (Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) or Remote)

How you'll contribute:
As a Senior Compliance Analyst, you'll be responsible for ensuring that Brighthouse complies with the various requirements governing our insurance and annuity businesses. In this role you will monitor business processes and perform routine audits to identify potential compliance risks. You will also help implement new policies, systems, or controls designed to reduce risk.
In this role, you'll get to:
Perform quarterly testing to monitor and identify regulatory risks related to market conduct activities.
Identify and effectively communicate any test findings to various business partners, lead remediation of the issues identified, and document corrective action as appropriate.
Support regulatory surveys and annual filings and responses to regulatory inquiries and exams from state insurance regulators, the SEC, and FINRA.
Review new and pending legal and regulatory requirements introduced by applicable regulators, including state insurance departments, state securities divisions, FINRA, and the SEC to determine applicability to the Company.
Work with relevant departments to understand the implementation efforts for compliance with new and pending laws and documenting those accordingly using the Company's risk management tool, OpenPages.
Provide monthly operational metrics for regulatory exams and filings that will be shared with senior management.
Perform other duties to assist Compliance leadership as assigned or required.
We're looking for people who have:
A bachelor's degree (preferred)
3+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry
Experience interpreting laws and regulations a plus
Knowledge of the regulatory requirements related to the insurance and securities industries
Intellectual curiosity, flexibility, and adaptability in relations with superiors and peers
Strong negotiation skills and ability to be a business partner and creative thinker capable of understanding and finding appropriate solutions to business needs
Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
