Department Description

The primary responsibility of the compensation group is the development and management of company-wide and business unit compensation strategies to support Gartner's growth. Our goal is to pro-actively manage the impact of our compensation strategy on the business to help meet their Talent needs. The compensation team is responsible for the design/structure of broad-based pay and sales incentive programs, conducting competitive benchmark analytics, managing annual comp planning cycle (bonus, equity and merit planning process), using data to conduct analysis to help solve talent related challenges.

VIEW JOBS 3/23/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-21T00:00 Reports To: Senior Director of Human Resources Overview: The HR Business Partner, Retail provides leadership and partnership to vineyard vines store leaders and employees to deliver strategic and tactical HR support and programs, which are aligned with the Company's business initiatives. This role provides data and recommendations related to effective coaching, retention, succession planning, and other employee-related activities. This role provides professional HR generalist support to business partners – both exempt and hourly – and is a key partner to leadership to develop, champion and oversee integral areas of the business. As a company brand ambassador throughout stores and, the HRBP, Retail also fosters a culture of diversity and inclusion with a focus on talent strategy and management, training and development, team member and labor relations and compliance. This role will primarily be based out of our home office in Stamford, CT and will require travel to stores. The HRBP reports to the Senior Director of HR, and partners closely with Regional, District and Store Leaders. Plan & Align * Serve as change champions in support of HR/Talent initiatives and functional strategy * Analyze trends/metrics to develop solutions * Support teambuilding initiatives * Coach employees on policy and procedure applications, employment/labor laws, conflict resolution, and change management to promote a fair and equitable work environment * Partner with Compensation to ensure competitive and consistent field total compensation Engage & Retain * Facilitate succession planning/talent reviews * Conduct career conversations/stay interviews * Coach and advise where appropriate to help employees grow and develop in alignment with business and personal goals * Culture/engagement surveys and action-planning support Learn & Develop * Assess/identify training needs for leadership development and collaboratively build solutions * Develop District Manager and Area Manager capabilities in HR practices. Coach them to effectively manage the HR demands of their districts and stores Performance Management * Ensure effective implementation of performance tools and processes; partner with field management on all employee relations issues * Discuss performance concerns/opportunities and identify root causes, offering effective and holistic solutions. * Manage the annual performance appraisal and salary planning process for all field employees by region * Partner with RDs, DMs, AMs and/or SMs to investigate employee relations issues, including performance management, policy violations, harassment, and other specific areas Qualifications: In this role, organization, people skills, and having a proven track record in HR are paramount. You should have: Experience/Education Required: * 5+ years progressive experience in Human Resources preferred * Minimum of 3 years in an HRBP or field leadership role * Multi-store/regional HRBP responsibilities * Prior employee relations experience * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience Vineyard Vines Stamford CT
