The Senior Communications Specialist will support internal and external communications for the Insurance business unit, including its proactive and reactive media and analyst relations efforts. The role is responsible for the improved engagement of internal and external stakeholders through communications such as articles, news briefs, vlogs and interviews in text, audio and video formats.
Write, review or edit content for customers, prospects, media, analysts and other influencers as well as the divisional employee population. Goal is to improve engagement of these audiences via different communication initiatives. Communication will be consistent with corporate messaging via various platforms such as newsletters, ad hoc communication, and announcements.
Liaise with PR agency to support media relations efforts in some cases leading campaigns and providing materials for the agency to pitch insurance stories to national and trade media.
Responsible for measurement of global media and analyst relations efforts. Track projects/campaigns and analyze results. Create quarterly dashboard which tracks share of voice, media placements, tone of coverage, top stories.
Provide PR Management support, which includes overseeing the creation and implementation of an insurance PR press kit. Manage Insurance Speakers Bureau as well as support marketing with Call for Presentations and Awards opportunities. Manage master outreach calendar (coordination of announcements).
Provide logistical support in implementing communication campaigns and brainstorm on communications projects, working with insurance marketing leads, PR agencies and the Communications team.
Role will liaise with other internal and external communications groups to ensure consistency across the business unit with enterprise messaging including utilizing corporate branding standards. May serve as a liaison to internal and external audio-visual and photography services to support internal business unit communications.
3-5+ years in communications role (public relations, integrated marketing communications or journalism which includes: writing/editing, client management, internal communications or external communications)
Bachelor's degree in a related field (Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, English, Media Production); Master's degree can compensate for limited experience.
Agency experience preferred
Experience interfacing with senior leaders
Ability to communicate in multiple languages a plus
Strong writing and editing skills
Exhibits ability to problem-solve and think both creatively and analytically
Ability to multi-task, manage projects and prioritize activities
Successful track record of working in a team environment
Storyteller - able to take raw data and develop content for a specific audience or venue

Communicates clearly and effectively with knowledge of AP Style Guidelines, professionalism to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
Ability to collaborate with all levels within the organization
Ability to work independently, including troubleshooting and problem solving, with supervision
Development or understanding of media coverage measurement tools and analysis.
Expert skills in Microsoft Office: MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Social media experience a plus
