This position will be located in Arlington, Texas and following a hybrid work model. Hybrid (Combination of work from home and in-assigned office location)

Responsibilities

About the role:

You as The Sr Commercial Credit Analyst will be responsible for researching and analyzing credit risks, assessing credit history and approving or denying extension of credit to potential commercial customers. You will develop and maintain positive business relationships with dealers, commercial customers, field sales staff and supporting departments within GMF. you wil also render appropriate credit decisions for more complex commercial financing requests. As a Sr, you will assist less experienced CVL team members with credit policy issues and commercial underwriting negotiations.

In this role you will:

  • Analyze commercial credit applications to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit and make prudent business decisions to approve or deny the extension of credit within established credit authority

  • Analysis of financial statements, collateral, debt service, personal financial statements and personal cash flow, as applicable to the size and complexity of the commercial transaction

  • Develop and maintain business relationships with dealership personnel that ensure volume objectives and credit quality while maintaining acceptable service levels, you may conduct joint dealer visits with CVAMs and attend industry events on as needed basis

  • Effectively maintain consistent purchase policy based on dealer support, portfolio liquidation, and management direction

  • Perform outbound calls to GM dealer body in an effort to educate on GM Financial Commercial products to increase and establish captive relationship

  • Build relationships and conduct training with CVL Funding and Servicing Departments

  • Handle escalated dealer issues as needed and demonstrate leadership skills and assume responsibility of Credit Manager as needed or as delegated access is defined

  • Responsible for monitoring all CVL queues to ensure they are worked to acceptable CVL service levels

  • Serve as subject matter expert providing mentoring and coaching for less experienced analysts

  • Work with leadership to identify and implement opportunities and process improvements

Qualifications

  • Must understand the principles of accounting, financial statement analysis, credit underwriting, and commercial loan documentation

  • Understanding of dealer operations preferred

  • Ability to interface with all levels of management and meet deadlines

  • Ability to make sound business decisions based on policies and procedures

  • Detailed oriented and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously

  • Excellent customer service skills and must be self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Thorough knowledge of the credit decision process and documentation involved

  • Ability to effectively negotiate contact terms that help meet company objectives

  • Superior dealer/customer relationship skills

Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or in related field or equivalent work experience required
  • 5-7 years of commercial credit buying experience preferred
