Sr Cloud Security Engineer - Product Security

GEICO's Cybersecurity organization has an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Senior Cybersecurity Cloud Engineer. This individual will play a key role within GEICO's Cybersecurity Team, with a focus on cloud engineering.

Position Description:

Our Senior Cybersecurity Cloud Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and operating cloud security solutions and controls to address the current and emerging security and compliance needs of the business. The engineer will serve as a cloud security expert, integrating sound practices from Identity and Access management monitoring, platform standards, network segmentation and interconnection, encryption, and more into the cloud platforms.

Position Responsibilities

As a Senior Cybersecurity Cloud Engineer, you will:

• Design, implement and manage robust cloud security architectures and controls across multiple cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle)

• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with DevOps, IT, and other cross functional teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

• Implement and manage cloud security tools and technologies.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior security engineers and team members.

• Stay current with emerging cloud security threats, technologies and trends and recommend appropriate security enhancements.

• Perform and/or coordinate regular security assessments of existing or new infrastructure.

• Identify security gaps that expose a company to potential exploits and develop short and long-term prioritized remediations to address them, ensuring management is apprised of the risk promptly.

• Represent the organization in external meetings and interactions with clients, stakeholders, and other industry experts.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud

• In depth knowledge of cloud security architectures, frameworks, and technologies

• High degree of ethics/confidentiality required.

• Experience with Automation and orchestration tools.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong prioritization and investigative skills.

• Ability to work effectively, independent of assistance or supervision.

• Innovative, creative, and extremely responsive, with a strong sense of urgency.

• Willing to share knowledge and assist others in understanding technical and business topics.

• One or more of the following Cybersecurity certifications are highly desired: Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Coud Security Professional (CCSP).

Experience:

• 4+ Years of Information Security Engineering Experience

• 4+ Years of Cloud Experience at an Enterprise Level

• 2+ Experience with scripting/programming languages (PowerShell, shell scripting, python, etc.) a plus.

• Experience implementing controls for various cybersecurity & regulatory frameworks such as NIST, PCI, SOX, or HIPAA.

• Good working knowledge of Authentication protocols such as: Kerberos, SAML, OAUTH, etc.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or equivalent education or work experience

Annual Salary

$82,000.00 - $236,500.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
