Hotwire's Cloud and Infrastructure team provides the platform needed to test, deliver, monitor and analyze Hotwire services in a rapid, highly available, performant and secure manner. We work across all of e-commerce and analytics, and our domain includes systems and network services, configuration management, identity and access management, monitoring and more.
We're seeking a highly talented Sr. Cloud Engineer to join our team. Are you obsessed with automation and cloud architecture? You practice methodologies for developing scalable and resilient public cloud-based platforms.
You utilize your strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) solutions architecture.
You own the execution of AWS Cloud migration that includes clouds architecture and migration to cloud-native applications.
You deliver resilient cloud applications architecture to provide high availability across multiple AWS regions.
You are an escalation point and mentor to our team members, helping them advance their skills and experience with tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Cloud Formation and scripting languages.
Your clear and confident interpersonal and communications skills make you an excellent teammate and give you the ability to work on individual tasks and as part of a larger team of engineers.
You make quick decisions as well as thoughtful, well researched plans.
You research, implement and improve a range of cutting-edge technologies.
You know your way around AWS services, design patterns and deployment strategies.
Required Skills & Experience:
Significant experience designing AWS-based services and/or migrating services to AWS, with 6+ years of Enterprise experience.
Strong experience with Chef (preferred), Puppet, Ansible, or similar config management tools.
Strong experience with Cloud Formation (preferred) or Terraform.
Strong Programming Language experience in Python.
Significant scripting experience in Ruby, Bash, or similar.
Solid Linux systems knowledge, with 6+ years of professional experience preferred.
2+ years of DevOps, SRE or development experience in similar environments.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related IT field from an accredited University, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Sills & Experience:
Significant professional experience in 24x7 enterprise environments.
AWS Certified Professionals.
Deep and broad knowledge of enterprise level storage area networks, data center storage, replication services & supporting technologies as they relate to cloud services technologies.
Deep knowledge of automation for moving workloads on and off premise, cloud-based file and sync capabilities, cloud content security and protection, cloud-based archiving, cloud-based application workflow and content management.
Solid technical knowledge of low-level virtualization technologies.
Networking Experience: IP network architecture, Layer 2-4 protocols.
