Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator
The Department of Neurology is seeking a Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator for the division of Neuroimmunology. The division seeks a clinically trained candidate who is capable and comfortable with working with pediatric patients and their family members. This study requires communication with several entities (pharmacy, radiology and the pediatric research unit) multiple physicians, and ability to document, collect and enter data into case report forms and electronic data systems.
The Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator will maintain a good working knowledge of assigned protocols and projects and their reporting requirements. The position reports to the division's Sr. Research Program Manager, with an indirect reporting line to the faculty principal investigators of the clinical research projects.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Act as primary contact for study participants, which may include scheduling, confirming appointments, and escorting/directing to various locations on campus.
Screen, recruit and obtain informed consent from potential candidates for research studies.
Coordinate study clinic visits, perform concomitant medicine checks, and physical histories per protocol.
Guide patients through study activities.
Possess phlebotomy training and occasionally train new coordinators.
Maintain an electronic or physical research chart for each patient.
Collect, enter and compile clinical data from a variety of sources.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data so that information may be used by the physician in treatment planning, presentations, and publication.
Organize, enter and ensure accuracy of patient clinical research data. Will be responsible for maintenance of data.
Abstract medical data from charts requiring interpretation.
Establish study calendar of various clinical protocols and coordinate the logistics needed for successful completion of the studies.
Work with others in a research team environment to assist in the maintenance of a research database of patients enrolled in clinical trials.
Comply fully with institutional and external clinical research requisites.
Complete and maintain all training requirements for biohazard material handling and department of transportation (DOT) shipping requirements.
Complete human subjects research training and maintain training compliance required at the regulatory and institutional level.
Assist outside monitors prior to and during study audits.
Develop protocols and associated procedures to achieve specific research aims, methodologies and project goals per regulatory guidelines.
Work independently or in team-based setting to collaborate on MS research objectives, peer review abstracts and manuscripts and/or conference presentations.
Assist with writing reports as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Three years related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Post-graduate medical training preferred.
Contributor to peer-reviewed publications
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Knowledge of RedCap, EPIC, Microsoft Suite, Good Clinical Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, STATA, SAS, OnCore, eIRB.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing.
