The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator (Sr. CRC) provides an advanced-level working knowledge and leadership of clinical trial management activities in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. This position is responsible for using advanced-level knowledges and skills to independently initiate, coordinate, direct and follow through in the overall administration and outcome of one or more clinical studies. This position will provide leadership for a division-wide clinical research program, including overseeing junior clinical research coordinator and/or other support personnel.

Minimum Qualifications
Certification by the Society of Clinical Research Associate (SoCRA) or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) is required.
Must be certified in the safe handling of biological specimens by compliance with local training requirements and use of safe practices
Must be certified in the transport of dangerous goods per IATA regulations
Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in starting and maintaining clinical trials and research projects in a hospital or medical office setting.
Must understand and follow Good Clinical Practices for Clinical Research
Must understand and follow federal, state, and university regulations for conducting research on human subjects
Thorough knowledge and understanding of FDA regulations, ICH guidelines, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), federal and Institutional Review Board guidelines.
Advanced-level knowledge and understanding of basic anatomy and medical terminology, as applied to clinical research
Advanced-level knowledge and understanding of pulmonary medicine and disease processes as applied to clinical research.
Department Description
The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine is the 2nd largest of 11 divisions in the Department of Internal Medicine. The Division is comprised of 30 faculty clinicians/researchers and staff physicians, as well as 2 nurse practitioners. The Division operates an active clinical research program, which includes over 20 clinical research staff, where the faculty are leaders in Asthma, COPD, Critical Care, Cystic Fibrosis, Interstitial Lung Disease, and Pulmonary Hypertension research. In addition, the Division manages 2 Clinical Fellows programs that have 18 combined fellows each year.
