This position requires frequent interaction and collaboration with other UC Davis teams and functional offices. A key function of this position is to provide support to the UC Davis Health Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine Division Clinical Research Unit (CRU). Responsibilities include but not limited to: mentoring other team members, data entry, maintenance of regulatory documents, completion of research activities in electronic medical records, orchestrating site visits, monitoring visits and audits, processing and shipping of laboratory specimens, conducting limited clinical procedures

Minimum Qualifications
Must possess and maintain certification as a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) and/or a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) and/or Associate (CCRA) through SoCRA and/or ACRP.
Minimum two years of experience as a clinical research coordinator with demonstrated increasing level of responsibility.
Advanced skills and experience to independently coordinate and be accountable for the overall administration and outcome of multiple clinical studies
Possess current working knowledge of federal & state regulations, GCP guidelines, HIPAA, institutional policies, and SOPs for conduct of human subjects research
Excellent knowledge of medical terminology with the ability to understand disease processes, anatomy, and physiology necessary for comprehension of study protocols and for communicating with investigators and lay audiences
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in human subjects research by the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) program as required by the UC Davis IRB.
Certification of laboratory safety training must be achieved on an annual basis.
IATA certification for the shipment of dangerous goods is required every two years.
Completion of the UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center's Clinical Research Training
Certification to perform basic patient measurements and tests, such as phlebotomy and EKG.Program preferred.
Experience in an academic medical center setting.
Bachelor's degree or greater in the sciences
Research coordinator experience in pulmonary and critical care medicine, cardiovascular or other medicine specialty preferred
Ability to travel to meetings as necessary for CRU-associated business and projects, and for continuing education requirements
Knowledge and experience working with key administrative/medical software and computer systems including Windows or Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite, web browser applications, email applications, and administrative databases such as UCD DaFIS, and Epic EMR.
Leadership skills to serve as mentor and role model for less experienced and lower-level CRC staff.
