Sr Clinical Programmer (SAS supporting CDM)

permanent, salaried

Remote from anywhere in the U.S. or Canada


Performing SAS programming to provide complex listings/reports to support Data Mgmt. function to clean data for Oncology trials

Develop programs to provide patient profiles, missing pages report, coding reports and ad-hoc reports for data review to support the clinical teams

Designing and developing SAS macros, standard programs, applications and other utilities to expedite SAS programming activities and usage by Clinical Data Management and other areas of Clinical for data review

Developing and maintaining the programs with proper documentation and testing using departmental standards

Ensuring all programming activities and processes performed are conducted according to standard operating procedures and good programming practices.Provide technical guidance to other SAS programmers as necessary

Ensures timelines and deliverables are tracked for self and others in the team

Responsible for the loading of external data into the database management system using SAS and/or SQL code as necessary. To be able to receive, track and load the external data into the database system and answer client questions concerning the processing of this data.

To interact with suppliers of external data in negotiating format and method of transfer from said supplier to Company.Have to ability to perform problem solving and troubleshooting for system procedures and processes that may arise in course of a clinical trial as related to the clinical database.Have the technical knowledge and provide guidance on providing interfaces or data exchanges between the Clinical database and other database, programming or reporting systems. Be able to export data or allow views of data from the Clinical database to other computer systems in a secure and verifiable method. When necessary provide support for tools which require access to the clinical database


Bachelors degree in healthcare or technology

7-8 years of experience in SAS programming

Experience mentoring/overseeing other programmers is a plus

A Clinical Consulting Manager at BlackTree will provide various clinical and operational consulting services to BlackTree’s home health and hospice provider clients, both on-site and remotely. Interested candidates must have an outstanding intellectual capability, maturity, judgment, and leadership skills. </p><p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ul> <li>Plans and manages multiple engagements and provides expertise to both internal employees and external customers. </li> <li>Provides consultation on-site or via telephone to clients relating to, organizational structure, operational processes, compliance, regulatory issues, staff delivery models, billing, policy and procedure development, and QAPI. </li> <li>Develops educational programs and written material directed at provider clinical staff; conducts clinical and regulatory research to provide expert advice to customers; designs, develops and facilitates the implementation of operational/clinical strategies to improve the customer’s operations and bottom-line results.</li> <li>On an interim basis may fill agency management role for administration, operations, compliance, QAPI/Education and other clinical services.</li> <li>Provides project management on engagements that may include planning, implementation and evaluation of a consulting engagement.</li> <li>Develops new business opportunities from either existing and/or new clients</li> <li>Provides significant resources and leadership to other employees and sub-contractors. </li> </ul><p> <strong>Qualifications</strong> </p><p>Interested candidates must have an outstanding intellectual capability, maturity, judgment, and leadership skills. Successful candidates will meet the following qualifications:</p><ul> <li>Minimum of Bachelor of Science in nursing or related field, master’s degree preferred from an approved nursing program, active RN license</li> <li>Must have 8 years or more experience in home health and/or hospice experience with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role. Healthcare consulting experience, while preferable, is not required</li> <li>Working knowledge of CMS home health and hospice regulations, including conditions of participation and reimbursement requirements</li> <li>Ability to work independently, with minimal direction and oversight as well as part of a team</li> <li>Excellent leadership, inter-personal, written and presentation skills</li> <li>Experience with compliance audits and clinical documentation review. Strong quantitative and analytic skills</li> <li>Certification in Homecare diagnosis coding and/or OASIS preferred</li> <li>Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing working environment</li> <li>Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs.
