A Day in the Life

The Sr Clinical Education Specialist is responsible for the execution of customer and sales training initiatives. The position will also have responsibility in the implementation of Lung Health products and programs for targeted customers. The position will provide clinical/technical education and expert consultation to facilitate broad adoption of Medtronic ILS products and procedures.

  • Provide clinical/technical instruction on Lung Health procedures and devices for physician, facility staff and sales training programs.

  • Provide advanced clinical/technical case support for customers as needed to support learning needs.

  • Maintain technical/clinical expertise on Lung Health products and applications to support a diverse group of internal customers (i.e.; sales, marketing, clinical research, research and development, etc.), and external customers (Physicians, facility staff, vendors, etc.).

  • Partner with the team in the execution of customer implementation plans and processes.

  • Participate in the development of training program content and materials in conjunction with other internal and external product and technical experts to meet the needs of customers (global sales organization, physicians and facility staff).

  • Participate in off-site training related events and meetings as assigned.

  • Participate in KOL (faculty) development programs as assigned.

  • Assist the Education team as a course facilitator / presenter as required for various training programs and events

  • Develop educational tools/materials in conjunction with the Education team for use by customers

  • Maintain awareness of medical and scientific literature to maintain expertise of current issues relevant to Lung Health products

  • Attend Company meetings / professional conferences / tradeshows as required

  • Responsible for the preparation of equipment, materials and supplies for Customer & Sales Education programs.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2 years of experience providing clinical support in Endoscopy, Operating Room or Special Procedures area

  • 2 years of clinical education and training experience

  • Remote-based position; must travel (minimum of 75%)


  • 3 years of clinical education and training experience; strongly preferred.
  • 1 year of medical device experience; strongly preferred.


  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of internal and external groups

  • Public speaking, presentation and training skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize under pressure

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Proven ability to problem solve and provide effective solutions

  • Flexible in seeking win-win solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to act with autonomy and independence while fulfilling priorities and meeting critical deadlines

  • Proven organizational and project management skills

  • Demonstrate proficiency in using multiple systems such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word and SalesForce

There is rotational evening shift coverage until 9:00pm EST, rotational Saturday coverage and rotational holiday coverage per the needs of the department. This is a fully telework role and candidates can live in any state but must work EST hours. The Associate Manager will supervise a large team that manages 7 Case Management programs. There are performance guarantees to adhere to as well as clinical audits. The Associate Manager role includes (but is not limited to): * Accountable for meeting the financial, operational and quality objectives of the unit. * Oversees the implementation of healthcare management services for assigned functional area Implements clinical policies & procedures in accordance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g. NCQA, URAC, state and federal standards and mandates as applicable) * Serve as a content model expert and mentor to the team regarding practice standards, quality of interventions, problem resolution and critical thinking * Ensure implementation and monitoring of best practice approaches and innovations to better address the member's needs across the continuum of care * May act as a liaison with other key business areas. * May develop/assist in development and/review new training content. * May collaborate/deliver inter and intra-departmental training sessions * Protects the confidentiality of member information and adheres to company policies regarding confidentiality * Manages resources responsible for identification of members, development and implementation of care plans, enhancement of medical appropriateness and quality of care and monitoring, evaluating and documenting of care * May collaborate with leadership for the development of , monitoring and communicating performance expectations * Ensures the team's understanding and use of information system capability and functionality * May act as a single point of contact for the customer and the Account Team including: participation in customer meetings, implementation and oversight of customer cultural requirements, and support implementation of new customers. * Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for staff using clearly defined requirements in terms of education, experience, technical and performance skills * Assesses developmental needs and collaborates with others to identify and implement action plans that support the development of high performing teams * Establish an environment and work style that promotes the concept of teamwork, cross product integration, and continuum of care thinking that results in strong performance * Consistently demonstrates the ability to serve as an model change agent and lead change efforts * Create a positive work environment by acknowledging team contributions, soliciting input, and offering personal assistance, when needed * Accountable for maintaining compliance with policies and procedures and implements them at the employee level Required Qualifications * 3+ years Clinical experience holding an RN * 3+ years of CM experience COVID Requirements CVS Health requires its Colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, or religious belief that prevents them from being vaccinated.
