The Senior Client Technician provides expert-level support across all non-SAP IT disciplines, serving as the final escalation point for IT issues, including after-hours incidents. This role plays a crucial role in strategic projects, offering guidance to the IT team and other departments. Staying current with industry trends is essential. This role demands technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork skills, ideally demonstrated through prior expert-level IT support and strategic project engagement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide SME (Subject Matter Expert) level expertise by utilizing knowledge and experience to provide expert guidance and support for all IT-related disciplines within scope.
Maintain a high level of expertise by staying up to date with the latest industry developments and trends to ensure that knowledge and skills remain current and relevant.
Serve as the escalation point for all issues triaged through the IT Escalation policy, including after normal business hours support. Ensure that all issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner within SLA.
Be the assigned resource in strategic projects, collaborating with technical and nontechnical teams to ensure seamless delivery of IT services.
Review the work performed at all levels of the IT Help Desk matrix for quality and accuracy. Provide coaching and mentoring to help develop skills and expertise.
Serve as a mentor to junior team members to foster the culture of providing expert-level white-glove support in IT-related disciplines and experience in IT engagement for strategic projects.
Maintain, continuously develop, and test the organization's business continuity and disaster recovery plan in conjunction with other IT teams and stakeholders. This includes identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities, developing strategies to mitigate risk, and ensuring, though testing, that essential business functions can continue to operate during and after a disruption.
Oversee the administration and upkeep of networked office printers throughout the region, focusing on cost-control and the implementation of eco-friendly practices.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
Advanced certifications such as MCSE, Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert, or equivalent are preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in desktop support, client technology, or related field.
Proven track record of providing technical support and troubleshooting complex desktop and client issues.
Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining desktop infrastructure solutions.
Proficiency in Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android operating systems.
Expertise in deploying and managing desktop hardware and software.
Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
Knowledge of endpoint security solutions, antivirus software, and endpoint management tools.
Strong proficiency with cloud platforms such as Azure, Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, M365, Exchange, Teams, SAP, Samsung Knox, JAMF, SOTI MobiControl, ServiceNow, and Salesforce among others.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in documenting technical procedures, user guides, and knowledge base articles.
Experience in managing desktop infrastructure projects from initiation to completion making use of Agile methodologies.
Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal clients and stakeholders.
Knowledge of industry compliance standards such as NIST, GDPR, and J-SOX.
Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and the ability to ensure desktop environments are secure and compliant.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (capability for more as business needs require)
Ability to work in an office environment that could include extended periods of sitting or standing, while occasionally lifting or carrying materials and supplies.
