As Sr. Citrix/Virtualization Engineer you will serve as the strategic desktop virtualization subject matter expert providing advice and direction to users, management and IT project teams for defining and implementing complex projects. The primary responsibility of this position is supporting Cirix XenDesktop, Xenapp, and virtual desktop environments. Responsibilities include design, deployment, implementation, integration and administration of a desktop virtualization environment, including provisioning server. This position has the ability to demonstrate breadth of knowledge across multiple areas of information technology. The Sr. Citrix/Virtualization Engineer will serve as a key team lead and member involve in strategic planning, enterprise-wide technology projects and issue resolutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deployment, management, and support Citrix App Layering, XenApp/XenDesktop, Citrix clients, StoreFront, Netscaler, Provisioning Services, Citrix Profile Management, Citrix Access Gateway, MS RDS licenses, and monitoring tools in an enterprise wide global environment, on-premise or on cloud

  • Installation, configuration, and management of Citrix XenApp architecture, performance and stability

  • Manages, maintains, supports, troubleshoots, and optimizes any Citrix solution presently in place while making suggestion and improvement

  • Defines product/solution strategy and roadmap

  • Works closely with service delivery and operations to ensure quality, standards and goals are met

  • Upgrade, patch, and migrate Citrix components as required

  • Citrix Receiver/Workspace endpoint troubleshooting and management

  • Add, remove, and upgrade servers in Citrix environments

  • Runs POC programs with early products, samples, and demonstrations

  • Manages/maintains relationships with partners/vendors, including vendor product license/support agreements

  • Follows Service Management Office (SMO) process for change control

  • Establishes best practices for monitoring and forecasting of system/application capacity

  • Establishes and defines automated system installation/configuration procedures

  • Continually monitor the health of the systems infrastructure, respond quickly to problems, and proactively troubleshoot irregularities before they become service-impacting issues (including performance tuning)

  • Develop internal documentation and procedures related to the systems infrastructure

  • Maintains knowledge base for all implementations on best practice procedures for Citrix and related infrastructures

  • Windows Servers administration, Active Directory (managing Users, Groups, OU objects, and group policies), managing shared folders, including setting up folder permissions, Powershell scripting

  • Perform proactive research and take steps to ensure stable environment operation.

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university

  • 10+ years in a combination of IT roles that may include Citrix deployment, systems administration, network administration

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience as a Citrix administrator supporting an enterprise wide infrastructure

  • Systems engineering skills with emphasis on enterprise scale architecture

  • Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with Citrix server build standards, automation, and provisioning

  • Hands on experience in implementing Citrix Workspace Environment Manager (WEM)

  • Solid knowledge and hands on experience with VMWare, Active Directory and Storage Area

  • Scripting experience using PowerShell and VBScript

  • Working knowledge of basic database administration functions General troubleshooting capabilities across the OSI model

  • Knowledge and understanding of virtualization technologies

  • Experience with monitoring server performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed

  • Solid understanding of SCCM, SCOM, WSUS, and Windowspatching processes

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks

  • Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in collaborative team environment

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in simple form to teams and end users

  • Effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels in an organization.

  • Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities.

  • Citrix CCA-V or CCP-V or CCEA certification highly desirable

  • Microsoft MCSE/MCSA is plus

This equipment will be used in the production of high volume disposable diagnostics. The successful candidate will be responsible for system specification, machine tooling and fixture design.
