You'll utilize your power integrity analysis experience on both on-die and package/board levels.

You will develop/define & refine the methodologies and flows for package/board model extractions, chip/package PDN co-analysis, package Electro-Migration (EM) analysis. The areas will include but not limited functional static/dynamic/scan IR/IVD analysis, package extractions, package modeling, die modeling, powerEM, SigEM, power switch modeling, design abstract and reuse for EMIR purposes, package and die design sign-off, etc.

Key Qualifications

Typically requires 5+ years of experience in power integrity field in the following areas:- Implementation, analysis, and modeling of PDN structures, including 3DIC, interposer, TSV- Methodology for IP and full-chip level IVD analysis with package and board modelsIN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE IN INDUSTRY LEADING TOOLS, LIKE:- Allegro (include APD)- Redhawk, - Voltus, - XtractIM/XcitePI, - PowerSI, - HFSS, - Q3D- Hspice/Spectre- Proficient in programming using PERL/TCL/Shell/Python/C/C++ etc.Experience in any of the skills would be a plus:- EMIR and package tool validation and qualification- Flow regressions- Power analysis- Thermal analysis- Spice simulation at package level- Physical designs, extraction, and STA


Primary responsibilities include development of chip/package co-design solutions; revamping/rewriting and streamlining the IVD and package flow as well as assume ownership of entire flow. You will work closely will interact with various design groups (Physical design/integration/Package/Power/Technology/PowerIntegrity) on their EMIR requirements for various post layout flows.

You will also work closely with vendors/foundries for tool qualification and debug.You will go beyond the industry norm and demonstrate creativity in problem solving, ability to think dynamically and outside of standard convention, and adapt quickly to new technical areas. MSEE or BSEE Degree in technical discipline.

What you'll be doing: * Develop novel PFA techniques and FA capabilities for new technology nodes and products in the areas of semiconductor IC device de-processing, sample preparation for Optical Fault Isolation, failure site isolation for device Physical Characterization. * Identify root-cause for IC product yield losses and reliability failures to drive process and design optimization and yield and reliability improvement and critical Automotive and other customer return PFA efforts. * You'll provide advice and training on newly developed techniques and methods to junior engineers and technicians. What we need to see: * You'll have the opportunity to learn / employ advanced backside analysis techniques and use state of the art analytical instruments. * The applicants are required to have an in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in various failure analysis techniques and toolsets, including SEM, FIB, AFM, nanoprobing, curve tracing, TEM, X-ray tomography, Thermal/Photo Emission fault isolation, CAD layout tools, IC sample preparation/de-processing techniques, etc. * Deep understanding of IC manufacturing processes, semiconductor device physics and reliability engineering. * Strong abilities with hands-on skills in C-AFM imaging and Nano-probing for failure isolation. * Extensive experience in operating Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM) to develop new capabilities for 7nm technology products. * Use Focused Ion Beam (FIB) to modify and cross section the devices to find problems and evaluate advanced processes in silicon device manufacturing, * Experience on Optical and Laser Probing systems to read internal electrical signals to debug and trace down problems. * Familiar with mechanical and chemical chip level de-processing techniques. * Excellent written and verbal skills and ability to lead PFA R&D projects. * High degree of integrity, initiative, and attention to detail in a team playing environment. * Self-motivated colleague with effective interpersonal skills, experienced in collaborating with people from different teams and organizations. * You are required to have 12+ years of industrial and research experiences in failure analysis, reliability engineering, and chip-level physical debug and characterization. * BS, MS, or Ph.D. engineering degree in Material Science and/or Electrical Engineering preferred.
