Directly responsible for procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies to subcontractors, and capital assets in support of the TETRA ESG Fluids group. Will be responsible for support for the ESG Fluid plants day to day operations including logistics. Will also support ESG Global fluids group and be responsible for International sourcing and Logistics of those fluids. Directly responsible for providing analytical data in support of strategic sourcing, supplier performance and evaluation, in accordance with TETRA's GSCP manual & policies.


Under the direction of the Global Supply Chain & Procurement Mgr. coordinates activities to provide subcontractors, management, and ESG locations with proper equipment, materials and services. Coordinates all aspects of purchasing and logistics to ensure efficient operations in providing a "Best-in-Class" service package.


  • Education / Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business/Supply Chain Discipline; or at least 8 -10 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education; and meaningful experience and understanding of transactional procurement and strategic sourcing process. 5+ years in a Supply Chain related function with International exposure a plus.

  • Computer Skills:
    To perform this job successfully, and individual should have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, with a strong emphasis on Excel) Working knowledge of JD Edwards (E1), Insight, Image Now, and general computer skills.

  • Certificates and Licenses: CPSM or alternative Supply Chain certificate is a plus.

  • Language Skills:
    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Spanish and Portuguese a plus.

  • Math Skills:
    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Reasoning Skills:
    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  • Project Management Skills:
    Ability to create A3 (Gantt) charts, manage timelines, monitor resources, material supply planning, delivery schedules and all data pertinent to global procurement / logistics. This includes international freight forwarding, documentation and compliance.

  • Oil &Gas Industry Experience: Hands on field experience with oilfield equipment in a field role is highly valued for this position. Ideally experience is with a service company.

  • Pre-Employment Checks: Pass the required drug and alcohol screening. Pass a background check with no state or federal felony convictions. Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and have reliable transportation


  • Coordinates the work of personnel engaged in receiving, issuing, and delivering supplies and equipment.

  • Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Monitors procurement records to meet company requirements

  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability, and prepare reports such as Business Cases, Lease vs Buy proposals, Economic Justifications.

  • Develops and manages a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilizes appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure best quality, price, delivery, and service

  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

  • Recruits and maintains suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.

  • Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices.

  • Reviews purchase order claims, contracts, and invoices for conformance to company policy.

  • Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.

  • Oversees all activities related to procurement of materials, parts, equipment, supplies, tools from intent to purchase through the delivery.

  • Negotiates or supervises the negotiation of requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Ensures procured items are supplied with adequate documentation and that all documentation is made available to the engineering staff.

  • Works with Product Line, Engineering and/or Operations staff closely

  • Works with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule

  • Expedites delivery of goods to users both domestic and international

  • Leads or assists Strategic Sourcing projects and the Strategic Sourcing group

  • Assist the Corporate AP department with resolving supplier payment and system issues

  • Assist Finance/Accounting departments with Forecasting and Budgeting

  • Collects, interprets, and analyzes relevant division spending as it relates to Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Performance evaluations in accordance with GSCP policies


In order to successfully fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position, employees are required to enhance their skill sets through professional development and training offered by the company through Success Factors. The assignment and timeline for completion of these courses will be determined by the manager and employee based on workload demand and general business requirements.

In addition to the above mentioned courses, the employee may be asked to obtain certifications appropriate to the position and attend any other seminars, training, and professional development programs deemed necessary to the position.
