Job Summary:

The Sr. Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for supporting and managing the implementation of assigned system projects. Applies specific knowledge of the business and knowledge of systems technology capabilities to business problem solving. The primary objective is to meet the information needs of the business unit. Responsible for development of business system requirements. Participates in the design and maintenance of complex system projects.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Business technical support for the business systems used by the Operational Risk Management Department.

  • Act as point of contact for day-to-day system issues, data questions, and report queries.

  • The analyst will troubleshoot issues and work closely with MUFG Union Bank's Information Technology Group and vendors to resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic technology plans.

  • Provide leadership and manage moderate to complex technical projects and ensure business needs are met.

  • Ensure the design and integration of proposed system solutions is effective.

  • Lead project efforts and make independent decisions to arrive at desired results.

  • Leads, conducts and facilitates meetings.

  • Develop reports which includes requirements gathering, writing queries, extracting data, and report layout.

  • Validate data for accuracy and ensure the data accurately represents the intended purpose of the report.

  • The analyst will also be required to develop a comprehensive knowledge of existing reports and determine the feasibility of new report requests.

  • In some instances, the analyst will perform data extracts from various bank systems on multiple platforms using established software tools.

  • Produce ad-hoc reports and perform data analysis based on requests from the business unit.

  • Identify opportunities to standardize reports and automate on demand requests

Qualifications:

Additional Information:

  • Requires 8+ years of Business Systems Analyst experience.

  • Requires 5+ years of report development.

  • Experience with Tableau, Business Objects, Cognos or equivalent report writing tool.

  • Experience with GRC systems is preferred.

  • Software implementation experience is preferred.

  • Experience with RSA Archer, OpenPages and/or SharePoint is a plus.

  • Experience with Operational Risk Management and/or Third-Party Risk Management is a plus.

  • Team player with strong planning and organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and project management skills.

  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience facilitating business requirement discussions.

  • College degree is preferred

  • Financial industry experience preferred.

Reporting to the VP of Financial Operations of the Americas – Procure to Pay, the Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for the technical support, administration and managing the upstream and downstream modules of SAP Ariba On-Demand application. Daily responsibilities include providing support to end users, troubleshoot, maintain, configure and enhance existing processes. Responsible for analysis and developing business requirements for business- led projects supporting the Bank's Ariba Production & Test applications. The Analyst will perform documentation of business requirements, process definition, and executive level presentations. Major Responsibilities: Analysis and creation of business requirements and project documentation. Identify the areas where changes are needed in business plans. Analyze the entire business, including data, goals, process, and organization. Identify the areas of strength and weakness and suggest areas of improvement. Perform the changes in the Test application and lead all aspects of the testing of such changes with the Requestors. Work with the business area management to identify required changes and continued testing. Lead the effort to ensure the changes are made to the Production application as required. Monitor the impact of such changes. Document and analyze the required information and data. The analysis is accomplished by evaluating information gathered through workshops, surveys, interviews, business process description and task analysis. Communicate needed changes to project management team and to business line management. Process improvement and documentation including developing playbooks and desktop procedures. Establish repeatable processes and evaluate for efficiencies. Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner. Create and maintain document libraries for documentation. Support management by creating and contributing to presentations and other projects. Responsibilities include: * Day to day support & administration activities around SAP Ariba P2P, Sourcing, and Contract modules including: Approval Flow Administration, Interface issue resolution. * Champion low to medium complexity level project related activities – meetings, document test cases, testing, issue resolution * Design, configure, test, debug and document Ariba process workflows and templates * Perform configuration tasks in coordination with business process owners * Assist with guidance and training to users * Evaluate business needs and convert to technical system design and development documentation for low to medium complexity level projects * Partner with Technology Group to lead and drive new low to medium complexity level project design and development * Consultant in planning and implementing low to medium complexity level system and operational changes * Aligns communications strategy to keep business partners informed of progress/benefits relating to strategic projects and initiatives * Thrive on collaborating with the implementation team as well as internal and external customers * Lead efforts with the Information Technology Group installing of upgrades/maintenance releases/patches as needed * Maintenance of business models and data flow processes * Oversees systems testing and ensures problem resolution * Prepares user test plans, user documentation, and user training plans for upgrades. * Regularly provides guidance and training end users. * May assist Junior Business Systems Analysts with the set-up of user groups, roles, and permissions Qualifications: Minimum Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree preferred. Direct work experience in supporting SAP's Ariba System from a technical perspective in the Financial Services industry is required and working in a Program Management office is preferred. Very strong Ariba technical skills coupled with business intelligence and a deep understanding of business areas needs so that they can be transformed into the Ariba Application or operational requirements. Must demonstrate well-rounded understanding of the Ariba System's technical designs as well as the specifications. Must have experience with business case development and presentation. 3+ Years' experience with Ariba Process Improvement, Consulting, and Project Management is preferred. Experience in project management and business analysis and work experience in managing low to medium complexity level projects and written detailed business requirements supporting the Ariba System. Strong experience in configuring/enhancing the Ariba Application in both upstream and downstream modules. Strong experience creating MS PowerPoint documents and documentation skills. The Analyst must be able to use data to create meaningful requirements and persuasive proposals. Strong written and oral communication skills are necessary for this position, as it will interface with all levels of the business including Executive Management. Critical thinking and problem solving are key skills for this role.
