Argo Group currently has an opportunity for a Sr. Business Process Engineer located in New York, NY or San Antonio, TX. = This position reports to the Director of Process Engineering under the US COO.

Do you have experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, and/or other process optimization tools and methods in a cross-functional team environment?

This role is for a unique professional to lead and facilitate cross-functional teams in the application of process engineering principles. They will design and optimize business processes that will drive improvements in customer-centric service and measurable efficiency gains. We don't sell personal auto and life insurance; we fulfill specialty business insurance needs in many industries through our network of wholesalers, brokers, and agents.

Responsibilities

  • Applies advanced knowledge and skills in business and process engineering discipline; change management, and continuous improvement.

  • Identifies opportunities, validates, prioritizes, and communications potential process engineer solutions. Shapes vision, mobilizes commitment and leads team to change process, systems and structures.

  • Provides data driven insight to management on key business issues. Identifies information flows across the business, and the relationships between those entities. Resolves issues and navigates obstacles to deliver work product.

  • Utilizes knowledge of customers, products, processes and Continuous Improvement expertise to analyze business problem(s) and determine the best methodology to resolve defects and issues.

  • Manages multiple initiatives of significant scope and complexity, identifies root cause, conducts complex statistical analysis, and parses the "important few from the trivial many."

  • Independently, under minimal supervision, performs complex work assignments and problem resolution across systems, processes and/or channels.

  • Drives improvement implementation efforts based on analysis with strong change management discipline and communications.

  • Supports other Business Process Engineers and Advisors in process engineering, change management, and transformation methodologies and analysis. Consults with team members on unique project challenges and provides guidance.

Qualifications

Required

  • Competencies: Business Acumen, Collaboration (Team Building), Communication, Demonstrate Adaptability (Agility), Drive for Results and Innovation.

  • Bachelors degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years process improvement and/or relevant business experience

  • Demonstrated leadership experience

  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated use of Lean, Six Sigma, data analysis, and industry tools (Voice of Customer analysis, SIPOC, process mapping, process requirements, solution development, and implementation)

  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated use of statistics

  • Business acumen in strategy, innovation, and marketing

  • Black Belt certification or equivalent level project leadership experience

Preferred

  • Master's degree in engineering, business, related discipline, or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ years relevant business support and/or general analysis experience

  • Expert knowledge and demonstrated use of statistics, finance, and/or economic principles.

  • Expert knowledge and demonstrated use of process engineering methodologies

  • Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) or equivalent methodology.

  • Change Management certification
