At AWS Professional Services, we are building a professional services team to work on enterprise customer engagements across the Americas, and to help our partners develop technical expertise and capacity supporting these customers. To help grow and scale this business, we are looking for a Sr. Business Operations (BizOps) Manager, with strong operational, organizational, collaboration, and communication skills.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the operations of a business, helping ensure that the business can optimize its impact on behalf of customers because it is so operationally sound.
Up to 20% travel expected.
Strategic Partner and Trusted Advisor to Area Leadership
Provide strategic guidance to Practice Leadership Teams, bringing deep knowledge of business operations best practices.
Establish baseline metrics/reports in Salesorce.com and Excel to support the development of new practices and goals.
Provide data-driven insights on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and standardized business metrics. Manage dashboards, regional reports and executive review documents.
Lead and review the end-to-end execution of annual planning process to include bookings, revenue, headcount, and goal planning.
Develop and manage annual and multi-year meeting cadence to drive business planning for AWS Professional Services. Manage the preparation, agenda, and follow up actions to complete forward looking business plans.
Opportunity Pipeline Management
Develop and manage the cadence and pipeline quality with Sales and Professional Services teams involved in proposing, selling and forecasting new business.
Facilitate weekly pipeline reviews to drive efficient execution of selling new opportunities that maximize customer outcomes.
Partner with Project Managers to ensure compliance across all projects.
Perform weekly reviews of Project Governance throughout the lifecycle of customer engagements including, but not limited to:
Project Health Status Reporting
Adding additional budget via Amendments or Extensions
Sending of Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) Surveys
Perform monthly audits of projects to ensure accurate billing.
Drive timely entry of billable time and expenses across the team.
Ensure billing, accounting and receivables teams all get accurate data feeds to track revenue, accruals, and collections.
Partner with Collections to resolve blockers for payment
Conduct ongoing operational training and readiness of AWS Professional Services new hires. Maintain on-boarding documents and training plans to ensure all new hires become productive on customer assignments as soon as they've completed their onboarding.
Partner with Resource Management to drive business continuity, unblocking teams when required. Support Practice Managers and Resource Management in maximizing available capacity to staff customer engagements.
Develop strategic relationships and act as an ambassador to internal stakeholders from Sales, Partners, Practice Development, Legal, and Tax.
Program Management within the Worldwide Operations Team
Develop and organize new programs and activities to support the strategic direction of AWS Professional Services.
Automate and improve new and existing tools and processes.
Manage teams with competing priorities and provide level-headed guidance during unexpected events.
8+ years of experience in the areas of Finance, Business Management and/or Sales Operations in mid-to-large scale Global Sales Organization
8+ years of strong Excel experience and the ability to conduct analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable deliverables, messages, and presentations (Pivot Tables, Vlookups)
In depth reporting experience with Salesforce.com (SFDC) or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. Ability to build reports and extract data.
Demonstrated experience proactively recognizing a challenge or problem and working with a variety of teams and data sources to diagnose the problem and recommend solutions
Proven experience optimizing project accounting/billing systems and processes for a professional services business
Working knowledge of Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools (FinancialForce, OpenAir, etc)
Proven experience optimizing project accounting and billing systems, and processes for a professional services business
Advanced Excel skills (VBA & Macros, Power Query, Advanced Charting)
Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
