The Senior Business Manager role serves as the financial and compliance manager for construction projects and assisting with the development of junior Business Managers. The role is also a primary liaison between operations, corporate finance, and certain external parties. This highly visible and fast-paced position is charged with financial reporting, compliance, and processing responsibilities over projects ranging in size from $20 million to $1 billion in contract value. This position will report directly to the Regional Business Manager and program director with input locally from other construction executives as needed.
Senior Business Managers are charged with helping provide classroom and hands-on training for new or junior Business Mangers and are expected to help plan, assign, and review staff's work.
Senior Business Managers are also expected to provide input into the department's goal setting process and help execute strategies to achieve department and company objectives.
Candidates must have the ability to work with professionals at all levels in the organization to accomplish the required responsibilities as defined below. It is understood that this position will maintain confidentiality in the discharging of duties.
Monthly project financial forecast (JSR)
Project budget maintenance
Key performance indicator monitoring
Variable consideration reconciliations
Project cash-flow monitoring and forecasting
Process innovation and improvement
Compiling owner requisition
Joint venture financial package compilation
Subcontractor requisition processing
Accounts payable processing
Consumable materials purchasing
Management of field payroll
Equipment inventory monitoring
Assist with project setup and closeout
Owner contract review and readiness
Lien waiver administration
Small and minority business monitoring
Davis-Bacon Act reporting and monitoring
Regulatory administration (FAR, CAS, etc...)
Timekeeping compliance monitoring
Owner audit management and compliance
Internal audit finding resolution
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or other business related field
Highly motivated individual with strong organizational and time management skills
Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Careful attention to detail and reliability of output
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced team environment
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience with JD Edwards, LCP Tracker, or Google platforms a plus
