The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer will be a key member of an agile development team supporting Clear Capital's business intelligence architecture. You will be responsible for the design, development, prototyping and testing of reusable, modularized business objects that capture all the sophisticated business logic demanded by our industry. You will build template reports and train end users in self-service reporting and analysis. Primary responsibilities include understanding ongoing development to our systems of record, continued maturation of our data warehousing practice and ever-evolving demands of all data consumers in order to provide sustainable, extensible and scalable BI solutions that span the continuum from real-time operational reporting to enterprise-wide decision support. In addition to new development, this role will be responsible for supporting legacy reporting while migrating to our BI framework. In addition, the BI Developer will partner with Applications Development to deliver user-friendly interfaces through our operational applications.

In this role, you will be working in a fast-paced environment assisting in the creation of new information services. You will be taking our business intelligence from tactical to strategic. You will work with our BI Architect in creating data marts to support all business groups within Clear Capital.

What will you do?

  • Develop, maintain and deploy our new BI framework

  • Design and maintain both real-time and batch data feeds from all our sources

  • Expand integration with additional data providers

  • Institutionalize and evangelize conformed business logic

  • Develop testing methodology for all BI objects

  • Act as liaison with internal customers to thoroughly understand requirements and provide training

  • Ensure user adoption of information services

  • Assist in designing BI target structures

  • Assist in developing and maintaining data models and metadata documentation

  • Assist in developing and enforcing BI standards

Skills you will bring

  • Experience with conformed dimensions; common, master, standard or reference dimensions

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience with SQL development, preferably Oracle PL/SQL (10g or higher), and /or PostgreSQL PL/pgSQL (8.0 or higher)

  • Experience with the following BI platforms: JasperSoft and Looker

  • Experience with CASE tools (e.g., Oracle Designer, ERwin Data Modeler, ER/Studio, Toad Data Modeler)

  • Experience with ETL development

  • Understanding of Kimball dimensional modeling approach

  • Superb verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Superb attention to detail

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to independently research and solve complex technical challenges

  • Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications

  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment

Skills you might have

  • Experience with data stewardship and governance

  • Experience with data modeling and BI solution architecture

  • Experience with SAP Crystal Reports/Business Objects

  • Knowledge of database and SQL performance tuning

  • Experience with Oracle Spatial and/or PostGIS

  • Experience with ColdFusion and/or Java, PL/Java

  • Understanding of business process model and notation (BPMN)

  • Understanding of real estate information (appraisals, mortgages, geospatial data, demographic data, etc.)
