Position Overview

The Information Technology division is responsible for global technology strategy and applications, corporate systems, infrastructure, and operations for the company's worldwide media portfolio. The IT portfolio includes technology for Broadcast and Cable TV, Universal Pictures, News, Parks and Resorts, Sports and Olympics, Digital, Media Labs, and Sales, Research and Analytics, and NBCUniversal's International group. The division is comprised of a team of technologists who are responsible for partnering with the lines of business to drive their individual technology strategies, as well as maintaining a solid core technical foundation, enabling the company to manage financial & HR systems, email, network, data and technical service centers, etc.

The Sr. Analyst, Business Engagement, in conjunction with the Manager, Business Engagement, will serve as the liaison and trusted advisor between NBCU Studio Operations, based in Universal City, CA, and Enterprise Technology (ET) which provides IT Infrastructure (network, compute, storage, telecom, workplace, and operations) services. This position reports to the Manager, Business Engagement. This role will serve as a point of contact for Studio Operations and will help represent ET strategies, services, and capabilities executing on key projects.

This position requires strong communication, influencing, and project management skills. Also important is the ability to establish and maintain key relationships both within ET and Studio Operations as well as interact with diverse stakeholders and partners with a "business relationship" mindset. While a strong technical foundation is essential for this role, the Sr. Analyst, Business Engagement, will also be expected quickly to develop deep business acumen and understand the strategic objectives, major events, and pressures for Studio Operations.

Sr. Business Analyst, Business Engagement's key responsibilities:

  • Develop a working knowledge of Studio Operations business, strategy, and key priorities

  • Partner closely with Studio Operations by actively participating in regular staff/team meetings

  • Act as a change agent, championing innovation on the customer's behalf

  • Provide budgeting for IT Infrastructure related projects including forecasting, actuals tracking, cost benefit analysis, level of effort, variances, and other finance related information

  • Create and provide project related deliverables including meeting minutes, requirements documents, and project estimates

  • Provide guidance and navigate the ET services catalog and processes on behalf of Studio Operations

  • Help manage the prioritization, resource allocations, and budgeting for projects approved by Studio Operations and ET Leadership

  • Strictly adhere to the NBCU Project Management Methodology and reporting requirements

  • Partner with engagement team to ensure delivery against business expectations

  • Communicate Studio Operations infrastructure needs and demands to each of the ET pillars: Network, Client Services, Operations, and Hosting Services.

  • Manage delivery of projects across all key stakeholders within Studio Operations, ET, and third-party vendors.

  • Act as an escalation point for all BE related matters, including non-business hours outage calls, and operational activities

  • Collaborate effectively across IT and Studio Operations to share/leverage learnings, minimize duplication of effort, and implement streamlined solutions

  • Provide hands-on direction in operational activities related to Incident Management and Problem Resolution that impact Studio Operations workflows and infrastructure.

  • Facilitate notifications from ET to ensure awareness of operational events and prevent disruption to Studio Operations activities

  • Ensure compliance of all IT governance and SOX related documentation by required due dates

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

B.S./B.A. degree in related field (or equivalent work experience)
3+ years' work experience in related field

Minimum 3 years of experience working on infrastructure related projects with proven record of successful completion

Solid documentation skills and proficiency with MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project or related applications

Ability to effectively present ideas and communicate with senior leadership

Results- and goal-oriented, with initiative to work until job is complete

Appropriate sense of urgency and commitment for critical deliverables

Strong character exhibiting company core values: Integrity, Creativity, Teamwork, Pioneering Spirit, and Ownership Deep understanding of application and infrastructure technologies
