Overview

YETI is seeking a result driven Sr. Brand Protection & Investigations Analyst with a passion for brand integrity intelligence collection, analysis, problem-solving, and advising decision makers. This is a multi-functional position on the Legal, Global Brand Protection team that collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders such as outside consultants, investigators, government agencies, law enforcement, and industry experts to educate, influence, and support anti-counterfeiting activities, strategic initiatives, and provide expertise for enforcement decisions in a fast-paced environment. As a member of the Global Brand Protection team at YETI, the Sr. Analyst must bring established proficiencies as a highly organized individuals that is passionate about curtailing counterfeits, diversion, cargo theft, and brand abuse to protect YETI's intellectual property, innovations, and consumers. The position requires a meticulous individual who has management and support function experience in the development and execution of cadenced and time-sensitive projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

Enforcement

  • Provide first line review for triage, mitigation, investigation, and enforcement of potential IP infringements

  • Review, tag, track, and send enforcement notices for infringements identified in the digital landscape including online marketplaces, social media platforms, websites, search engines, advertisements, classified, and mobile apps

  • Draft takedown notices, cease and desist letters, and other demand letters

  • Conduct compliance checks for enforcements

  • Support Minimum Advertised Price policy compliance

  • Proactively investigate unauthorized resellers for potential diversion, theft, fraud, or policy violations

Investigation

  • Conduct all-source global investigations utilizing social media, public records, third-party databases, and other open and closed data sources to build leads and provide investigative support

  • Identify high value targets for coordinated civil and criminal actions

  • Analyze, interpret, and report the facts pertinent to investigations in a coherent manner

  • Analyze global brand protection data to identify principal infringers and trends

Data Management and Reporting

  • Input and maintain up-to-date records in case management tool

  • Receive, review, tag, and store received property and evidence to safeguard chain-of-custody

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards for global brand protection operations, including enforcement activity trends and statistics, for internal and external distribution

  • Create and maintain Brand Protection presentations and reference materials for external and internal trainings, overviews, and special initiatives

  • Work with global customs agencies to register, renew, and update appropriate information and country-specific training materials

Vendor and Resource Management

  • Outreach, collaboration, and support stakeholders on regional and global initiatives

  • Handle vendor onboarding, invoice processing, and record management

  • Manage and support assigned vendor projects and programs to maximize brand protection resources

Program Support

  • Draft and proof documentation such as letters of authorization, declarations, affidavits and authentication documents for criminal prosecution and civil litigation

  • Review complaints for civil litigation

  • Support ongoing litigation through evidence review, investigation, and data analysis

  • Attain and maintain an elevated level of expertise regarding IP crime, investigative techniques, industry developments, and legal frameworks

  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvement, innovative programs, procedures, methods, and systems

  • Use technology and seek resources to improve tradecraft and enhance skills

  • Follow internet trends and emerging technologies, particularly those related to social media and e-commerce/marketplace platforms

  • Provide brand protection training to internal and external partners, including marketplace review teams

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with key partners and business units across the company, industry partners, and intelligence-sharing organizations

Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in filed or similar with a significant analytic and evidence-based reporting component

  • Experience working within a highly regulated space with confidential information

  • Experience using case management systems and other third-party services, particularly Salesforce, Tableau, and SAP

  • Familiarity with intellectual property concepts

  • Demonstrated familiarity with consumer product cycle, supply chain operations, and logistics standard operating procedures

  • Driven tenacity to manage and continually improve ongoing projects

  • Able to develop and refine an analytic process and approach

  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with a variety of dispositions and adaptable across internal and external parties

  • Professional aptitude if/when adverse scenarios arise such as disputes, conflicts, or confrontation

  • Flexibility to a hybrid team environment (onsite, global offices, remote)

  • Familiarity with the current cyber threat landscape and basic internet structure concepts

  • Limited travel dependent on specific business need and related to case specific support, customs and law enforcement trainings, and industry conferences

  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills and assimilate new information in support of evolving job and team support requirements or initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience conducting open-source intelligence (OSINT) and social media research and investigations

  • Job-related certifications aligned with primary responsibilities

  • Foreign language fluency, Chinese and/or Spanish preferred
