RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work directly with the Senior Project BIM-VDC Manager to engage the project production teams in advancing technology innovations

  • Preparation and execution of BIM Project Execution Strategy

  • Ensure Model-based Coordination is performed as outlined by the project strategies

  • Create a model management approach for each project that allows for optimized model performance and delivery

  • Provide technical support for the project team across Show, Ride, Architectural and Engineering disciplines

  • Represent the owner's interests on all design and construction technology implementation issues

  • Document lessons learned for all design and construction technology strategies deployed on the project.

  • Ensure model performance / health, data integration and correct collaboration setups throughout the project ecosystem

  • Identify technology Best Practices throughout the project life-cycle that will bring value to projects, developing tools as needed.

  • Investigate innovative model-based processes by analyzing risk scenarios to optimize project delivery

  • Pilot new use-cases for the model inclusive to our partners for the entire lifecycle

  • Communicate / visualize project delivery information back to the stakeholders

  • Consult with stakeholders on implementation of BIM and VDC technologies

  • Manage, develop, and maintain the 3D authoring platforms and/or modeling of the project in multiple platforms

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of advanced and progressive BIM and VDC technologies, exhibiting hands-on experience in the AEC, media and entertainment and/or manufacturing business driving the adoption of design authoring and collaboration technology tools

  • Advanced graphical, illustration and documentation skills

  • Advanced knowledge implementing BIM strategies beyond 3D modeling and clash-detection to include sophisticated data management and skills assisting organizations in collecting on the benefit of optimizing design process

  • Advanced skills in troubleshooting Revit modeling/visibility problems

  • Advanced understanding of BIM360 and Navisworks approaches for model collaboration

  • Ability to follow team coordination discussion and display relevant model content/views

  • Will speak up in a room to draw attention to issues and solutions

  • Ability to help team members with parametric modeling strategies in Revit

  • Manage and support the creation of Project-driven Level of Development (LoD) criteria based on needs

  • Basic experience with hiring outside vendors, and preparation of professional bid packages

  • Exposure to contract administration process (contacts, professional fees)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Sketch Up, Rhino, Maya, 3d Max and other 3D modeling platforms

  • Knowledge of Navisworks and clash detection tools

  • Knowledge utilizing Point clouds for content verification and creation in 3D tools

  • Experience in lifecycle management of BIM models

  • Experience in BIM 360 suite

  • Experience in Document Management

  • Experience in BlueBeam Revu/Extreme software and collaboration management in these tools.

  • Familiarity with industry standards & codes

  • Experience with importing and exporting metadata from models into lifecycle management tools.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree from an accredited architecture school

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited engineering school

  • Bachelor of Construction Management

  • Autodesk Certified User or Autodesk Certified Professional

VIEW JOBS 9/13/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-12-12T00:00 The Architectural Building Information Model (BIM) Specialist leads the implementation of BIM technology, research & development, and provides direction and leadership to architectural studios, and Project Digital Coordinators. The Architectural BIM Specialist works closely with the senior members of design teams, particularly the senior designer, technical designer and the project manager to ensure project delivery utilizing BIM. The Architectural BIM Specialist will be active in developing the project BMP (BIM Management Plan) identifying goals and objectives for the utilization of BIM; and monitoring progress of the BIM from the project initiation to final delivery. Responsibilities * Collaborates with Project Digital Coordinators in developing a BMP (BIM Management Plan) for each project * Collaborates with Project Digital Coordinators in setting up each project in BIM * Coordinates BIM software training for staff and monitors staff BIM experience levels * Coordinates firm-wide technologies, standards and guidelines with fellow BIM Specialists in other offices on a consistent and regular basis * Monitors the models for quality and content throughout the project delivery process and at specific project delivery milestones * Evaluation and development of BIM processes, policies, protocols and workflows * Identifies and evaluates productivity gains to be made utilizing third party software * Primary contact with vendor and other BIM related technical support * Monitors and tracks team compliance with BIM standards and guidelines * Document and communicate best practices and workflows * Support interoperability between multiple software applications * Organizes and leads weekly Project Digital Coordinator meeting * Participates in firm-wide Digital Design Leadership conferences.
