Nuveen Real Estate is seeking to add a Senior Associate to support its Strategy & Innovation team. The Strategy & Innovation team includes members of the research, technology and sustainability teams as well as data scientists who lead our quantitative analytics. The role of the team is to advise the business how best to position itself for tomorrow's world operationally and culturally, helping to grow the business sustainably and responsibly. Strategic advice is provided at the product, investment and asset level as the team explores new approaches to investing, as well as emerging geographies and real estate sectors. This is an exciting, dynamic role offering the right individual to help shape our future business. The role is based in North America but will cover global markets.
Monitoring structural trends across, but not limited to, demographics, sustainability and technology, and their implications on real estate and other real assets
Working closely with the Heads of Research, Sustainability and Technology, supporting their development of the Global Strategy & Innovation team, acting as the connective tissue between these three teams, fostering more collaboration
Providing advice on new ways of building teams for long term success, to include identifying appropriate skill sets and tools required to remain relevant, and to generate efficiencies
Identifying structural drivers of demand for real estate and finding executable solutions for the business to benefit from these
Preparation of thought-leadership papers and materials for both internal and external stakeholders
Regular interaction with sector and regional heads, and other business leaders, to ensure strategic advice and innovation are being implemented at both fund and asset levels
Monitoring industries complementary to real estate for new technologies, emerging business models and social initiatives, and seeking opportunities for effective collaboration
Helping develop our knowledge of emerging asset and sector types or locations that will be best positioned in an urban environment that is optimised for demographics, sustainability and technology
Supporting the development of impact investment strategies for real estate through the understanding of the changing real estate requirements across the full spectrum of society
Advising on the right cultural and corporate environment for long term loyalty and productivity of our teams
7 years of related work experience
Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as real estate, economics, computer science, mathematics, finance, urban planning
8-10 years of related work experience
CFA or master's degree strongly preferred
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Familiarity with the suite of Microsoft products
Familiarity with commercial real estate fundamentals and the technologies impacting the sector
Familiarity with sustainability as it relates to real estate
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and problem solve
Time management and prioritization skills are critical
