Amgen is seeking an Engineering Strategic Planning and Operations Sr Associate to join the Engineering organization.

Engineering Strategic Planning and Operations continuously drives improved Engineering performance through training programs, monitoring of business performance, inspection readiness and response, risk management, and safety programs. The primary responsibility for this role will be to manage and improve the training program across multiple functional areas within Engineering. Responsibilities will also include support for high priority initiatives and other tasks and duties as identified.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the training management program for Engineering staff and Integrated Service Providers

  • Identify and initiate improvement opportunities in training processes and systems

  • Drive automation of data reporting and visualization tools and resources

  • Must have a good understanding of databases, data queries, data analysis and data visualization tools

  • Update and maintain Training Assignment Portfolios (TAPs) for all Engineering functional areas

  • Perform regular reporting of training adherence as a Key Performance Indicator (KPI)

  • Identify and remove impediments to training, escalating issues as needed

  • Support continuous improvement in Engineering's Compliance, Risk and Safety programs

  • Identify and respond to Compliance and Safety related trends in Engineering

Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of engineering related experience

OR

Associate's degree and 6 years of engineering related experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of engineering related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience of Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools

  • Experience in report automation and data analytics

  • Ability to effectively communicate with varied client base, including all Engineering functions, project teams and management.

  • Experience using databases, data queries, data analysis and data visualization tools

  • Six Sigma certification (green belt or black belt)

  • Experience in GMP regulatory requirements and/ or Quality Management processes.

  • Audit management experience in GMP audits/ inspections (internal and/ or regulatory).

  • Basic understanding of Engineering functions such as equipment maintenance, facilities maintenance and construction management.

This individual will report to the head of the Final Product Strategic Planning & Operations (FPT SP&O) function. This role will support the FPT organization by managing and tracking to closure Nonconformance (NCs), Change Controls and Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs) attributed to Final Product Technologies. The Senior Associate is responsible to stay informed of best practices and provide innovative, impactful ideas to optimize processes to support the organization's growth strategies. The Sr Associate will work independently in a self-directed action.
