SUMMARY:

Individual will process payroll, prepare tax reporting, filing and payment responsibilities; prepare and provide budget information for compensation related accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process the bi-weekly Home Office and Field payrolls

  • Process the monthly Pension payroll

  • Prepare and pay the weekly/monthly/quarterly payroll and policyholder tax deposits and filings

  • Prepare and process monthly journal entries and reconciliations

  • Assist in the development of the annual budget for taxes and compensation related accounts;

  • Assist in providing support to auditors (CPA, IRS, 401k, LLC, Worker's Comp, MIA etc.)

  • Serve as back up as necessary for others in the department

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma required

  • Bachelors' Degree in business or accounting related major preferred

  • 2 - 4 yrs experience with employment withholding tax preparation and general ledger reconciliations required

  • 2 - 4 yrs payroll processing experience required

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Accurate data entry skills

  • Strong attention to detail and follow through a must

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office and email applications , most importantly Excel

  • Microsoft Access experience a plus; payroll/tax reporting knowledge a plus

  • ADP WorkForce Now or similar payroll software experience required

  • ADP WorkForce Now is strongly preferred
  • Mid-level mathematical skills required
