Amgen is searching for an Endpoint Security Senior Associate IS Security Engineer who will report to the Senior Manager Information Security and will be based in Tampa, FL at the Amgen Capability Center. As an Endpoint Security Senior Associate, you will be a technical endpoint security expert and leader for a very diverse endpoint set of enterprise security solutions.

You will be responsible for global service delivery and system ownership for multiple endpoint security technologies. The Sr Associate will have the responsibility of ensuring endpoint security solutions and policies are on track to meet and respond to threats inside of the company's environment both within the global corporate network and manufacturing environments. You will ensure that all technologies are operationally ready and that the endpoint security and security teams are enabled to execute on capabilities as needed to resolve operational issues to meet business requirements.

You will be responsible for delivering elite security systems and tools management related to the Endpoint Security space. You will work with other engineers and business units to help spec, build, administer/configure, and maintain critical preventive and detective security infrastructure related to Amgen's endpoints.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage policies and software deployment in antivirus and malware solutions (SEP, Cylance)

  • Manage endpoint discovery software deployment and maturity (Tanium)

  • Develop and update enterprise documentation for endpoint security processes, policies and standards

  • Provide end to end support to enterprise counterparts, identifying root cause of complex enterprise initiatives with endpoint security solutions

  • Perform moderate trouble shooting across complex enterprise applications, server and endpoint environments

  • Ability onboard, learn and implement new security technologies

  • Maintain secure configuration process for software and version compliance across global enterprises

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of malware operation and indicators or threat across a global enterprise

  • In depth knowledge of Windows operating systems (workstation and server)

  • Recommended Competencies

  • Moderate understanding and hands-on experience with Symantec, Cylance and Tanium

  • Moderate ability to mentor and train others

  • Moderate experience with scripting (PowerShell, Python, etc)

  • Detailed experience with Agile project management methodology and tools

  • Moderate experience reading and writing documentation for Infrastructure Security implementations

  • Basic experience with ITIL processes such as Incident/Problem/Configuration/Change management

  • Develops, implements, and sustains operational scripts, data structures, libraries and programming code that optimize security in emergent compute patterns with diverse applications throughout the global environment

  • Analyzes, designs, develops and operates programs, shell scripts, tests, and infrastructure automation capabilities in an advanced security context

  • Collaborates multi-functionally with analysts, engineers, data scientists to deliver continuous improvement in cyber defense/resilience

Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Science and 2 years' experience

OR

Associate's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Science and 6 years' experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years' experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills

  • Passionate, collaborative and results oriented

  • Knowledge of Windows and/or Linux systems and associated scripting languages

  • Entry level security certification (CompTIA Security+, Microsoft MTA Security, ISACA CSX, GISF, SSCP)

  • Working knowledge and experience on endpoint security with technologies and solutions like Traditional Anti-Malware Technologies, Next Generation Anti-Malware, and Endpoint Detection and Respons

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience on endpoint security with technologies and solutions like Traditional Anti-Malware Technologies, Next Generation Anti-Malware, and Endpoint Detection and Response

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in one or more Information Security capability like security monitoring, threat intelligence, network protection, data protection, endpoint protection, technical security assessments, security architecture

  • Experience in using and managing Linux-based operating systems and developing Perl or Python scripts

  • Experience in enterprise environments and current technology areas like cloud and mobility

  • Knowledge of Information Security standards and policies like ISO 27001/27002, NIST, and others

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated success in leading multi-functional initiatives without formal authority through the use of strong influencing and negotiating skills

  • Effective working with global teams

  • Successful management of multiple priorities

  • Team-oriented, placing priority on the successful completion of team goals

  • Self-starter with a high degree of initiative

  • Highly motivated and able to work effectively under minimal supervision

  • Experience with regulated systems (GxP, SOX) in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare industry

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Experience with complex technologies that impact security

  • Experience with user documentation as it relates to the delivery of information security services in a regulated environment

  • 5+ years as a senior security engineer supporting a multinational organization

  • CISSP or equivalent security-related industry certifications

  • DevOps experience building and deploying infrastructure with cloud deployment, build and test automation technologies like ansible, chef, puppet, docker, Jenkins, etc.

  • Experience programming in compiled (C, C++) and interpreted languages (Python, Ruby etc.).

  • Skilled programmer with sufficient experience in high level programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Visual Basic

Preferred Certifications (Any):

  • SANS (GSEC, GCED)
  • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or Security+
  • Microsoft Certifications (MCSA, MCSD, MCSE)
