About the Team

The Workday Education team creates and delivers engaging and innovative learning solutions to help customers, partners, and employees make the most of Workday's unified solution.

The program management function manages the Education initiatives that align to the Education Organization goals. Each initiative has a series of related projects and tasks that are managed and reported against to ensure the organization stays on track with its goals for the financial year.

One of the primary goals of this team is to complete projects on time, on budget and to keep project stakeholders happy and informed each step of the way.

About the Role

The Education Project Manager will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of Education related projects from initiation through delivery ensuring consistency with company strategy, department commitments and goals. For each of these projects the Education Project Manager will oversee the end to end project plan, resolve issues that stand in the way of project success and ensure the completion of project tasks and deliverables on time, and to quality standards. He/she will coordinate cross-functional teams through meetings to measure progress and maintain an up to date and accurate status of all projects within the portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, oversee and help implement projects that support Workday Education's vision and goals.

  • Lead the planning and implementation of assigned projects.

  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.

  • Communicate effectively to ensure stakeholders and project resources are completely aligned on project scope, goals and deliverables.

  • Define project tasks and resource requirements.

  • Develop project plans.

  • Assemble, coordinate and lead cross functional groups to deliver on project objectives.

  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools and resolve problems that may come up.

  • Provide direction and support to project team.

  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the projects to all stakeholders.

  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.

  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve desired project goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant and equivalent work experience required.

  • 5+ year's project or program management experience.

  • Passion to stay current on industry trends and related learning technology.

This position is located in Pleasanton, California. Position Purpose Albertsons companies is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead IT projects for our Customer Service Center and eCommerce/Grocery Delivery business. The Project Manager will work closely with the IT Director of Customer Service, application development teams, cross-functional IT teams, business stakeholders, and leadership teams distributed across geographical locations including Pleasanton CA, Phoenix, AZ and Manila, Philippines. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Provide leadership and assume accountability for the quality and on-time delivery of projects, providing continuous visibility and reports/updates to senior leadership teams * Partner with Product Managers, Enterprise Architecture, IT PMO, Application Development, and Services and Support teams to create detailed plans for both Customer Service and eCommerce initiatives * Continually manage and track project activities, scope, and budget, driving projects to completion * Proactively identify and mitigate project risks; work across teams and departments to resolve potential issues and/or delays * Follow the PMO's defined methodology and standards, and look for opportunities to improve existing Project Management best practices, including the adoption of industry standard tools, technologies, and methodologies * Track time and attendance of project team members, review vendor invoices and timesheets, review SOWs and Change Orders as necessary for the project needs * Participate in tactical planning surrounding cross-portfolio programs and systems Qualifications: * 4-year degree (Computer Science, Information Systems or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience * 7+ years in project management and software development with demonstrated evidence of increasing growth and responsibility * Outstanding verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communications skills * Strong working knowledge in project planning particularly with Microsoft Project software * Experience working in an iterative approach for development environments - experience managing agile/scrum projects is preferred * Must possess superior problem-solving skills, be action-oriented and decisive * Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure to balance competing priorities in meeting business deadlines * Keen ability to resolve problems, mitigate risks and remove roadblocks in a project plan * Ability to effectively articulate and present complex concepts, ideas and strategies to senior leadership and end-users * Extensive creativity, drive, high energy level, and the ability to self-manage * Previous experience with medium to large projects in Retail Companies, specifically around Customer Service and eCommerce business functions, would be a big plus How to Apply: Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a resume by visiting careersatsafeway.com Diversity is fundamental at Albertsons-Safeway.
