Role Overview

Friends School of Baltimore a Quaker, co-educational, college preparatory school, Pre-K through Grade 12, enrolling 800 students, seeks a Sr. Associate Director of Admission and Financial Aid to begin in July 2024.

Reporting directly to the Director of Enrollment Management, this position will work closely with the Director of Enrollment Management to oversee the day-to-day work of the Admission Office and assist with the financial aid program. This role is a full-time, 12-month position. The Sr. Associate will also be directly responsible for the admission process for all prospective Grades 9-12 families.

Functions and Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the admission office and assist the team in coordinating the admission process for all prospective families, including inquiries, visits, applications, and admission decisions.

Oversee the admission process for all prospective families for Grades 9-12, including visit days, interviews, file completion, and outreach, with the support of the Admission Counselors.

Serve on the Financial Aid Committee and assist the Director of Enrollment Management with the financial aid program by evaluating applications for need-based aid and the Merit Scholarship Program.

Plan and manage admission events and activities with other team members. Admission events include recruitment and retention events, school fairs, and feeder school outreach.

Lead the coordination of collecting and retaining all necessary application documentation and analysis of the admission process for prospective families.

Assist the Director of Enrollment Management with the School's retention strategy and develop new initiatives to attract and retain qualified students.

Manage the student and parent admission ambassador programs, including recruitment and annual training for the ambassador groups.

Oversee the International Student program. Includes attending SEVIS training and meetings with the MD SEVP Field Representative, monitoring and assisting with Visa creation and maintenance, and completing SEVIS Recertification as needed. Sr. Associate Director will also work with the Director of Enrollment and Upper School Dean of Student Life on recruitment and homestay experience.

Serve on and assist in the training of three divisional Admission Committees.

Work with the Athletic Department on admission initiatives to bring student-athletes to Friends.

Create and understand analytic tools and metrics to guide recruiting efforts and support general admission activities.

Maintain an active presence on campus and participate fully in campus life.

Remain current on recruitment, marketing, and admission work among independent schools nationally through networking, attending conferences, and visiting schools.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Three to five years of admission and management/leadership experience preferred.

  • Desire to be part of building the larger school culture and community, particularly concerning diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts

Skills and Knowledge

Dynamic and motivated individual to join and inspire a collaborative team, who will foster a positive work environment.

Demonstrated ability to work with several constituent groups, including students, parents, and faculty, and cultural competency skills in the areas of diversity, multiculturalism, equity, and inclusion.

Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Google Chrome; prior knowledge of enrollment management and financial aid software a plus.

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize assignments and to multi-taskFlexibility to include occasional long work hours, including attendance at weekend and evening events
