The Sr. Associate, Data Stewardship is the subject matter expert of data in their given domain, with the best knowledge of the data and its uses, and is responsible for identifying, measuring, and reporting data quality issues within their respective area of expertise. They are also responsible for metadata management and plays a key role in supporting core Data Governance functions and strategies.
Executes the Data Management Program according to the Data Management Program Policy and Standards in partnership with the Data owners, Subject Matter Experts and Technology partners within a given Data Domain
Specifically, this role will support the activities of the Data Management Program for the Corporate and Investment Banking business lines and all its associated data domains
Develops strategic multi-year Data Plans in collaboration with Data Owners taking into consideration priority data driven business processes, reports, and projects of the area that require Data Management program implementation
Manages new data initiatives by defining data management requirements, tracking and reporting on projects progress, escalating risks and issues in plan execution and follows defined change management governance processes
Collaborates with Data Owners to identify Key Data Elements using a SIPOC approach
Creates and maintains metadata knowledge artifacts such as data dictionaries, data lineage, and identifies need for changes in metadata within domain.
Defines data quality rules for all critical data elements and works with the Data Quality "DQ" team for their implementation
Defines requirements and collaborates with Data CIO and IT teams for development of technical lineages
Identifies, tracks, and works with Remediation team on the resolution of priority data issues root causes to improve data quality levels
Conducts an annual review of existing key data elements, data quality rules and associated metadata artifacts to ensure they are still fit for purpose and were consistently implemented across the organization
Recommends and implements improvements to existing data, metadata and governance processes.
Participates in CDO trainings to improve knowledge of data management tools, policies, and new procedures
Participates in routine first line of defense governance forums including leading monthly meetings with Data Owners and domain SMEs
Develops standard reporting packages on data domain status including data plans execution, program coverage levels, and key remediation activities for program stakeholders and executives
Coordinates with Group CDO team in coordination of program execution over shared data flows or ad-hoc projects requests
Bachelor's Degree; Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent quantitative field.
Master's Degree; Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent quantitative field or equivalent work experience.
9-12 years relevant experience
SQL/SAS a plus

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Results oriented; ability to work efficiently and meet strict reporting deadlines.
