The candidate will be part of the Accounting Operations Division responsible for managing the close process, on a GAAP and Statutory basis, in a high paced and challenging environment. The group works closely with all business areas throughout the company, senior management and technology. The role requires strong accounting & analytical skills, clear and concise communication and a willingness to challenge the status quo. The candidate will be a key contributor in process improvement and automation initiatives that are currently underway, as well as identifying future improvement opportunities. The role will provide in depth institutional knowledge, exposure to all aspects of the Companys financials, the opportunity to increase technical skills using new technology and management experience.
Oversee day to day functions of junior level staff and co-sourced resources
Review and finalize variance analysis, coordinating with business areas to understand activity and explanations
Partner with business areas to understand and advise on accounting transactions
Preparation and/or review of various management reports
Review and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by junior level staff and co-sourced resources.
Ad hoc journal entry preparation
Assist in sign-off of results to reporting and tax teams
Identify and drive process improvements
Utilize RPA (Robotic Process Automation) technology
Qualifications of a Successful Candidate:
B.S. in Accounting
5+ years relevant experience
Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles
Strong understanding of financial controls
Willingness to seek innovative efficiencies
Strong leadership and collaboration skills
Ability to manage onsite and offsite teams
