West Monroe Partners is looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to join our Technology practice and work closely with our Mergers and Acquisitions practice (M&A). This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Technology practice on project work including M&A due diligences, strategic enterprise architecture, architecture of post-merger integrations, and high-level plans for carve-outs.

What will you be doing?

  • Assess the underlying technical environment within an organization and identify risks and opportunity areas to make recommendations on how to achieve long-term scalability, reduce operational cost, or better support business processes

  • Evaluate IT and technical development processes for best practices and levels of maturity

  • Identify key process issues and risks in the context of an investment thesis while evaluating potential investments for our Private Equity clients

  • Formulate projects and strategies to support the client's investment thesis, key risk mitigation, and long-term technology-based initiatives in the form of risk mitigation and post-close projects.

  • Demonstrate expertise in designing technology solutions through system integration and application development

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of software architecture with experience in migrations, re-factoring and greenfield development projects

  • Experience applying modern software design concepts such as separation of concerns, microservices, service oriented architectures, test-driven development, model-driven development, etc.

  • Working knowledge and experience with complex business systems integration and custom object-oriented design and development

  • Strong software engineering experience with two or more of the following: .NET (ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET), Java with J2EE (EJB, JDBC, Servlets, JSP, JSTL, JMS), Javascript frameworks (React, Bootstrap, Angular), Node.JS

  • Experience applying Agile/lean methodologies

  • Experience architecting solutions using database technologies such as relational, NoSQL, transactional and/or data warehouses.

  • Demonstrated experience leading technical engagements including proposal development, estimation, and day-to-day project management experience (time tracking, budgeting, status reporting, etc.

  • Familiarity or awareness of application security and secure coding principles

  • Experience working within a dynamic, collaborative, and team-based environment

  • Desire to lead and mentor other team members or developers while leading projects

  • Experience architecting for cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is a plus

  • BS / Computer Science, MIS or equivalent required

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, verbal and written communication skills

Job Overview: As a Technical Architect, you will participate in strategic, architectural discussions with senior stakeholders on projects. Responsibilities * Provide architectural direction and oversight on large-scale enterprise project implementations * Collaborate with Product Managers/Owners, end users, operational leadership, and subject matter experts to understand current and future goals. * Recommend modern technology stacks and enable adoption in order to meet business objectives * Communicate stakeholder business, functional, and non-functional requirements and supporting design to technical teams * Participate in technical planning & requirements gathering phases including design, code, test, support, and document engineering software applications. * Produce key technical architecture deliverables such as technical requirements documentation and conceptual technical architecture * Cultivate highly functioning teams comprised of Perficient and client resources that recognize the value and expertise of all of the different disciplines. * Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience levels and mentor developers * Ensure that technical software development processes are followed, familiar with industry best practices for agile software development Qualifications * Proven developer in the Java/OSS space with 10+ years of Java application development experience * Expert in technical leadership and providing architectural vision on full lifecycle solution development engagements for large-scale enterprise initiatives, including requirement analysis, design, development, test and support. * Ability to articulate complex technical issues and solution proposals to all levels of client leadership * Recognized as a subject matter expert for a given technology area * Strong consulting and communication skills * Proven management, leadership and mentoring skills * Ability to work effectively with various organizations in pursuit of technology solutions to business problems * Self-starter that can challenge the status quo and their team * Expert knowledge of application development technologies, including Java, SpringIO/Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate * Expert understanding of API, microservice, and integration concepts and technologies, such as REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, message queues, and integration patterns/frameworks * Experience building distributed / service oriented / microservice-style and cloud based architectures * Solid knowledge and experience with databases (relational and/or NoSQL). * Experience with operational concerns (NFRs, PaaS offerings) and logging/monitoring solutions * Strong triaging, debugging, problem solving and investigative skills * Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools (e.g. git/github, Jenkins, Gradle/Maven, Artifactory, containers/docker, Ansible) * Familiarity with UI technologies, such as HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Angular/Material, Bootstrap, React * Familiarity with automated testing solutions * Knowledge and experience in developing software using Agile/Scrum methodology * Experience with Agile task management tools (e.g. JIRA, Rally, VersionOne) * Preferred Skills and Education: * Experience working with a globally distributed team and managing off-shore teams. * Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or comparable major * Experience with authoring, editing and presenting technical documents.
