Provide senior technical leadership, guidance, and support in formulating strategic technology approaches and systems architecture for Charter's enterprise systems. This position is responsible for designing reusable technical assets and standards to support solution development, as well as consulting with project owners on how to best leverage these assets and standards. Strong understanding of the information technology landscape - stretching from infrastructure, network, client, server, emerging technology standards and trends.


Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience

  • Drive business and IT alignment to leverage reusable architecture capabilities

  • Collaborate with IT management to define and develop technology strategy, technology standards, roadmaps, and practices

  • Act as a technical expert addressing problems relating to systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platform integration

  • Interact and consult with appropriate business analysts, project managers and developers to understand application/project requirements and define architectural solutions to meet those requirements

  • Work with the application solutions delivery teams in the development of services, components, standards, and frameworks required to support Charter's business strategy (e.g. design patterns, reusable components)

  • Ensure that projects follow the prescribed development life cycle and meet quality standards

  • Serve as point of escalation, review and approval for key issues/decisions

  • Conduct code reviews for all major initiatives

  • Analyze and recommend software acquisitions and alternative solutions, methodologies, strategies and tools

  • Keep current with trends and technological innovations in the Cable and IT industry and make appropriate development recommendations

  • Identify and communicate risks associated with component or application implementation

  • Provide superior support and guidance to the development teams during the analysis, development and testing processes


Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to speak contemporaneously about technical and business strategies for senior technical and business executives


BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or related field or equivalent work experience


  • 12 years of experience architecting, developing, configuring, and testing Order Management Applications

  • Experience in Oracle OSM cartridge design tools including Oracle Design Studio on Eclipse IDE and Admin Client

  • Experience of understanding Object Oriented programming best practices

  • Experience in XML technologies including XQUERY, XPATH, and XSLT

  • Experience in JAVA technologies including Java, J2EE, and EJB-MDB

  • Web Service development experience (e.g. SOAP, WSDL, RESTFul services)

  • Proficiency in database (Oracle 11g/12c, PL/SQL)

  • Experience in database communication with Oracle PL/SQL

  • Experience with Oracle Reference and productized BSS/OSS implementation solutions in RODOD and RSDOD

  • 8 to 10 years experience with software development methodologies

  • 4 years of building automation tools (ANT, Maven, Jenkins) and testing automation tools (SoapUI, JUnit)

  • Experience architecting large and complex enterprise applications

  • Highly experienced in providing technical thought leadership across multiple applications and business units

  • Highly experienced with development process, methodologies and governance

Provide guidance and training as necessary to other team members with the goal of process improvement and overall solution quality. Responsibilities: * Design, build, test, and maintain on-premises and cloud-based data structures such as data marts, data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines * Design, build, test, and maintain on-premises and cloud-based data pipelines to acquire, profile, cleanse, consolidate, integrate, and persist structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data * Work with internal and external data providers and subject matter experts to understand data sources and formats * Understand and influence the data provider road map of planned changes * Advocate for additional data sets and elements to improve delivered data products * Support exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, predictive analytics, and machine learning models * Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality * Optimize and tune queries for performance * Assist in the construction of high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proofs of concept * Collaborate with data scientists, data analysts, and other team members on project goals * Select and integrate any data science, Big Data tools, and frameworks required to provide requested capabilities * Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data * Monitor performance and recommend any necessary infrastructure changes * Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures * Create custom software components (e.g. specialized UDFs) and analytics applications * Explore and employ a variety of languages, tools, and interfaces to integrate systems * Remain current on data architecture, analytics, and data science developments * Ensure systems meet industry best practices and business, security, privacy, and retention requirements * Implement and update disaster recovery procedures * Learn and understand client business plans and objectives, aligning project goals and plans appropriately.
